Hi Philip You can hang on wall whatever you like i guess. I would start with a question, is your room soundproofing sorted? After the whole room sound insulation you can then put on wall number of different styles of acoustic panels. And make that way your own art. They are made flat poster look likes or textured like recording studios. I would start with that. Then there are many companies doing large prints so you can use your own photo or picture or notes to make your own personal wallpaper. Just an quick idea anyway:) Kind regards Radek

Starting with the initial structure, you need a good layout allowing efficient and effective flow to work areas without obstruction (barrier island, too much thoroughfare in the kitchen, no space for a second person) and a good location overall (not miles from the car, not miles from anywhere for that matter, good ventilation, good natural light and view, some degree of separation from living areas). Then design, good proportions of cabinets, and seating if there is, all materials that are easy to clean, good artificial lighting, makes the space work as it should. I dislike top cabinets too deep, or top cabinets on every bit of wall available. I alsk dislike the line of pew/bar-like seating at islands. And good quality work is vital. The hollow floor tiles, terrible counter seams, doors not closing properly, don't allow wow. And regarding use, use the available space well, take advantage of the design with efficient use and avoid clutter. arrange dishes &appliances effectively, and give it some personality what would make me go wow involves mostly the top points on the actual house and kitchen design, because it's considerably easier to change a terrible or outdated splashback than it is to move the kitchen around the corner for better light are you designing a new build or reno? It would help to consult the relevant pros for a wow result

I'm not sure I follow how moving the sofa down to the garden end means you can't put your feet up and enjoy the garden? For me, there are too many pieces against the wall. Do you need both sideboards? Can one go in the hall? Could the sofa go across the room, perhaps more over to the fixed patio door side, with the padded ottoman in front of it like a coffee table/footstool? Have you tried the table widthways across the room? Perhaps a chair either side of a sideboard would make it easier to move around until you needed seating for six? If you still need/want the pretty bucket chair in the room it could possibly go on an angle by the radiator with a floor lamp or tall plant next it to it. Not sure on room dimensions as I suspect space might be tighter than it appears on the photos but if you took a pic with the sofa widthways there might be some other suggestions you like. As ever Carolina's and Celery girl's suggestions are fab but I agree that until you get the furniture layout right you won be satisfied with the finishing touches to match your lovely wallpaper.
