Giving our new home the scandi feel!
We've recently just bought our new home and I am in love with all things contemporary and scandinavian!
The house wasn't bad when we bought it but it just wasn't my style, especially the bold teal wall, it just made an otherwise light and airy conservatory extension feel small and dark!
There's still more that I would like to do but I'm so happy with the progress that we have made so far, it feels so much more spacious and open now with lighter colours and less furniture!
We have a grey wash wood flooring to put down which I think will work great with the wall colour, exciting times ahead :)

Comments (15)Funnily enough, we have been thinking about making the landing into a reading area with low book shelves when we conceptualized our little extension slightly over a year ago. As we had imagined, the area is flooded with light for most hours of the day. I had therefore originally intended to focus on getting some suggestions for the white wall but thought the better of it and threw the question wider so that we may get a schematic idea for the area rather than something too specific which might not gel together. So thanks everyone for your great suggestions. Any thoughts about canvas/photograph(s) arrangement on the white wall would be greatly appreciated. p.s. love the handcrafted colour cubes at the Lines of Pinner but they will have to go with the rest of the colour scheme should we decide to go down that route....See MoreWill a new roof add value to the sale price of our home?
Comments (3)We bought out house last year and the surveyor said the slate roof would need replacing fairly soon. We got quotes and went back to the vendor and asked him to meet us halfway which he agreed to do and the price was reduced, as was the stamp duty of course. We had the roof replaced four months after we moved in. We were in a position to fund works on the property and had we not been, we might not have bought this house. Having said that, we love it here and have invested heavily in the garden this year. There's nothing major that needs doing other than what we want to do to make it "ours" so we're happy.
