Comments (17)A colour I've used in the past that has worked well with pink accents and grey is Dulux Just Walnut. It's perhaps a bit more taupe than grey like Calluna. Dulux Dusted Moss 2 is a very similar colour to F&B's Cornforth White but I do agree that if you love the colour and finish of Farrow and Ball then you should stick with it as you won't get an exact match elsewhere. Comments (51)I tried colour matching various f&b shades with Valspar professional , some of which B&Q even had a 'recipe' for, but none of them really came close. I ended up buying mainly with Valspar's own professional paint (primer & paint in one) & loved the durable, scrubbable, finished result. They have a fab colour range too & their colour cards are a good size & absolutely spot on to the painted colour. (If you cannot see a swatch of colour that you like, they have an additional enormous swatch book under the counter. Their tester pots are brilliant value for money & a good size too. I also bought Dulux & Crown on the 2 for £22 offer which is unbeatable if on a tight budget!...See MoreFrom where do you buy your paint?
Comments (54)Mylands. You always regret your economies. I've repainted this kitchen 4X over the years, and last time was in Dulux which wore so poorly. Just custom mixed a new vibrant duck egg to paint my kitchen in marble matt walls, eggshell woodwork, and floor paint. Mylands matched impeccably. It was a dream of coverage, and looks spectacular. The quality of the pigment shows, looks the money, nothing like synthetic mediocre pigments in cheaper paint. It's a big improvement....See MorePlease help me with colour scheme for my house
Comments (20)I was a die hard F&B fan - painted numerous houses solely in F&B for the finish etc. HOWEVER due to budget constraints, a current offer at Homebase on Dulux paint (inc. mix) , and the fact i'm painting an entire 3 storey house i experimented with colour matching F&B colours - specifically Cornforth White, Purebeck Stone, Ammonite and Pink Ground. Opting for the Endurance Matt and Flat Matt finishes by Dulux i was pleasantly surprised by the results. The colour match was pretty much spot on - i would caveat that the Dulux colour match won't produce matching finishes for all colours. For example Dulux couldn't match a flat eggshell in the Cornforth White so we bought Estate Eggshell from F&B and it goes perfectly well with the walls in the matched Dulux Endurance Matt. In the master bedroom we choose to use F&B Cornforth White and Pink Ground and estate emulsion and I felt it was a thinner paint than the Dulux! The added benefit of the Dulux colour match is that they can provide a number of different more durable finishes.
