rug advice please
Comments (20)I still prefer the smaller rug. I've always thought a rug half under the couch looks a little odd and makes the room look smaller unless it's a very big space to play with. It's a beautiful layout and the first rug seems to fit just right for me. It's ok for rugs to 'float' in this type of space and tie the room together. I also think that corner under the chair leg on the bigger rug would quickly become an irritation!...See MoreRugs???
Comments (8)Hi Sarah. Great job on the hall, it looks beautiful. We put a rug in the kitchen; it looked amazing but it picked up spills etc. I was forever cleaning it. I took it out again pretty quickly. I'd go with your thought - big rug in the seating area and no rug in the kitchen sounds lovely....See MoreLiving Room Nearly There!!!
Comments (15)Wow Beckie! What a transformation! You've done a great job :). I feel like this rug was made for your colour scheme- http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/textiles-rugs/rugs/alvine-ruta-rug-flatwoven-handmade-white-yellow-art-50168285/ Ties in beautifully with your curtains too. Traditionally rugs should either go right under furniture or just under the front legs. I think it's nice to be able to see your flooring though so as long as it's not miles away from the furniture I think it'll look good. I'm not usually a fan of glass topped coffee tables. Not least because they show up dust and marks and make that horrible noise when you put mugs down on them (is it just me that bothers?). That said the room could end up looking rather cluttered with more furniture so maybe glass is the way to go here....See MoreMums birthday surprise. Thoughts?
Comments (4)You are lovely to want to do this ! Just a thought - might it not be a good idea to organise for her DVD collection to be downloaded onto a hard drive instead - then she can sell the actual dvds on magpie and treat herself ! Will free up loads and loads of space ? Bedrooms are sometimes quite private spaces - even us designers tread lightly when dealing with people's private spaces... and that's when we are invited in to help! - so maybe find out as much as you can about her dream bedroom before you start ?!? Using the design app with her might be a good start ?!?!...See MoreMark
