Freestanding or wall-mounted TVs?
Comments (16)Hello again, Jayk. The disagreement was about the value of fireplaces. I love them; you don't! I only discovered I loved them when I got one - this is the first home in which I've had one and up till now I've thought they were a pain, assuming they should be the focus of a room without my permission. But we agree on the technology side. It is unbelievable, isn't it, that something that we use every day (most of us, anyway) such as a television should be so prescriptively ugly. You'd think they could come up with something better that suits enough of us to be a financial success for the technology company. The way southernpointofview has fitted those two televisions in is impressive but I don't have that sort of furniture. I want a discreet wall-mounted television on an arm so I can swing it out and back. Sounds simple ......See MoreHiding a TV (above a Fireplace or just mounted on a wall)
Comments (5)Yes, “The Frame“ has only just been launched in the UK! I believe that TV cosmetics will improve over the next two years. With the thin frames and improved lightness of the latest TV‘s, there is greater ease of fitting custom frames around them. Many TV manufacturers are now also offering beautiful screensavers and if not, it‘s easy to add an AppleTV or another Streaming device to display images on the screen. The icing on the cake is a mirror TV and over the past three years we have perfected the process of bonding a special mirror glass directly onto the leading brands of TV‘s at about 60% of the cost of dedicated MirrorTVs. The advantage of this approach is that we can use the most current and advanced model of TV‘s, whilst the dedicated MirrorTV typically lags behind, using year old+ models....See MoreHelp on where to put tv and position sofas in new extension please!
Comments (8)Thank you so much for taking the time to do these detailed plans. You have certainly come up with some ideas that we had not thought about. In particular we wouldn't have thought about having a small sofa against that wall (we had thought the tv would be good here) but actually I think it feels nice to be facing the other way. I also like the piano and the bookcase being at the entrance and feels this would help separate the kitchen from the family room area and also be that I can hear my daughter play whilst I cook and pop round the corner to see her. We have only just created that large opening for the window as wanted as much sun in as possible (and in fact have just had it amended to make it larger so it didn't look so obviously like a garage conversion to us) - so I wouldn't be keen on the second idea of reducing the window size for the piano - but yes you are absolutely correct and we should have thought about furniture placement more than we did as the 15cm of wall to the left of the window has prevented me from running a nice long floor to ceiling bookcase along that wall which is disappointing - but still other areas to put it in. Luckily I can carry out your furniture arrangement as I placed 3 tv points so will see how it feels when we finally get finished. Thank you so much for these plans and the effort to achieve them!...See MoreTV help - Kitchen Wall
Comments (4)If we didn’t get flush, which I don’t think we will, then looking at how close we can get it to the wall with a rigid TV. It will be a 32-37” TV realistically. We just don’t want an unsightly gap, so really stumped on the best bracket, and really a good TV that doesn’t have one of these “power banks” separate We might be being very stupid, but life never use to be this tough!...See More- last year
