What style to decorate this room?
Comments (8)You have some really great stuff! and it shouts transitional, so I'd suggest you go with that. I think all you need to do is organising what you have in the first place and then see what else you need or is missing. You could do an art gallery type thing with your photos /canvases on the wall with the sideboard; a large painting/ print on the chimney breast behind the sofa. Consider having a shelf on top of the radiator, you could have a couple of accessories there or use it as a console table. And a large, luxurious plant where the dining chairs are now. https://www.houzz.com/magazine/a-gallery-wall-for-every-personality-stsetivw-vs~538039 The other thing I'd consider doing if it was my place would be to call a carpenter to arrange the TV/ fireplace side of the room. Some built-ins would be great there, especially if you could integrate the fireplace in it - it looks a bit stranded there at the moment. Something like below, but with the TV on the side. (last pic is from our former house; we had it built using the photo before it as inspiration)....See Moreinterior decorating info

Comments (37)Well I have made my choice! Unfortunately I missed the discount deadline for sofa.com so the Valentin footstool shot up to £800. I still loved it but prefer a bargain. So I thought I’d have another search and went back to Footstools And More company who had 10% off. Fantastic reviews. So have ordered the Seville bench in dark brown leather and little legs so it’s not so high up. The choice of fabrics, sizes (including bespoke) and legs was huge! With discount it came to £521 so well pleased. Thank you all for your help and suggestions. Here’s a pic, but imagine it with little legs lol! 😊...See Moretraditional scottish hotel interior ideas
Comments (21)Interesting and surely exciting project. No expert advice from me I’m afraid, but my personal overal view would be to yes, create a traditional style, but with a contemporary twist. I really like the style in the bedroom photo that Sonia sent. I feel you can probably keep all the tartan chairs as long as you tone down the carpet, wall colours and curtains (I agree, no pelmets). Have you considered painting the beams? This could eliviate some of the ‘heavy‘ feel but still maintain the character....See MoreCelery. Visualization, Rendering images
