Tired Living Room Transformed in Edinburgh!

The brief from the client for the living room was to create an elegant and comfortable room that could be used for entertaining friends, watching TV and reading.
I felt strongly that the TV shouldn't be visible so it is hidden inside the bespoke mirrored cabinet. The room used to be a strong yellow but this didn't do the paintings justice so I opted for a soft blue/grey instead.

Comments (16)I quite like it! I love this style of cabinetry and I think it’s very well done and when the artwork is in place it will bring it together. The colour theme is restful, I did my bedroom in similar colours and love it. I am rather intrigued as to how the pendant lights are hanging from the sky lantern? Sure the table is perhaps a little long and formal but I’m sure the client is happy. Comments (11)Hi Abbie, I came across this discussion in the forum and it looked like a house with lots of potential and I couldn't resist sketching out an idea. Did the purchase go through? I thought that a side and rear extension wouldn’t add much space whilst also costing significantly more. But a rear extension which is slightly wider than the original house would be very beneficial. Downstairs the old kitchen becomes a utility and W/C. The hallway opens onto an L shape kitchen/dining/living room, which is also attached to the front lounge with double sliding doors. Upstairs the existing bathroom becomes an ensuite for a new master bedroom with a dressing area. A new bathroom is added in part of bedroom 2 which is enlarged into the extension.
