This clients desire was to test some of their ideas in this home
before building a new ‘paragraph 55’ house on the island which is about to go
in for planning consent. The clients are keen sailors and bought this penthouse
apartment for the views over the harbour and the Spinnaker Tower. Their first
words to us were that they ‘wanted us a install a boat for their kitchen’. As
we dug deeper they explained their thoughts about a boat shaped island with a
breakfast bar. They wanted a high quality, very functional kitchen with modern
equipment, and had a budget around £60K.
