Looking for arty/funky hand painted dining chairs

I've been looking for four dining chairs, painted or decoupaged in a funky/arty kind of way. The photo below, from an Etsy seller, is the kind of thing I mean. The only UK ones I have found, like the one shown, are from folks who seem to only have one design in their line-up. Any pointers?

I've got quite a lot of furniture second hand, including both dressers (although the top half of one has been repurposed as a tall table/stand of sorts), a bed, mirrors, tables, a conservatory three piece bamboo suite (£50) and ikea bar stools. Also inherited a tall pine chest of drawers and one half of the bunk bed I slept in as a child. My parents are always telling me to let it go but I don't see why I should- I have a lot of memories associated with it and an idea to turn it into a mezzanine style bed to free up floor space in a small bedroom.

I have always been attracted to the Carmel-by-the-Sea houses designed by Comstock...the interiors are often decorated casually, with comfy sofas, chairs, maple & cherry furniture and nature-inspired art and accessories. Big fantasy. In real life, we are retired on Cape Cod, Massachusetts and live in a 1200 sq.ft. condo one block off a large town's Main St. and two miles from any beach. Except for the building and location, we have the rest...not sure if our decor is English casual, English coastal or ???, but I wouldn't change it, except to buy better quality sofa and chairs.

I would suggest a scandi scheme using predominantly white ( try clay based paint it is gorgeous and feels great ) but only washing the floor and door and table and chairs. Chose a standout colour - red, green or blue or all together but slightly less of. I would do one curtain if you absolutely have to have one, that can be pulled to the side, but when open is more of a flat hanging than a gathered fabric. I used a handmade, cotton, blue and white bedspread ( thank you Dog's Trust Charity shop ). Or you could consider a stripe(s ) incorporating your stand out colour or gingham. Get some stencils of reindeers and little houses and paint onto the back of your dining chairs, better still do them freehand. You could paint the legs of the table in your stand out colour. I would keep the chandelier although I cannot see it clearly because the lights are on. I would paint it using my stand out colour and then distress it with just a wash of white ( keep the brush almost dry and scrub all over randomly so you can still see your under colour and remove the present clutter around the bulbs. I would then hang all kinds of crystals and pretty things off it. ( not partcularly scandi I know but it would look great and you could change the hangings according to the season e.g. pine cones and other nuts and bits of greenery ( from garden or local woods and hedges ) or tiny ornaments that you and/or the kids have collected ( charity shops and boot sales good for collecting - you could have a theme, e.g. tiny animals etc. Or string up sweets in colourful wrappers. You could get a cloth type rug with your stand out colour in it. The dining room is your oyster. Go fish ! If you look up scandi style there is lots of stuff in Google images, amongst other places, to give you more ideas if you fancy the style. Ooops ! nearly forgot the dresser - essential in a scandi scheme and of course provides the storage you want, in cupboards and shelves. Hi Zach, I have read through the comments and was looking to see if you rearranged the room to incorporate a table. However, with the layout as is, you may want to consider a Console table that turns into a Dining Table. There are loads at varying price points to choose from. I have added a contemporary style below that may be of use with your scheme. This table is on offer, reduced by 30% to £192.50 from http://www.laredoute.co.uk/ Gallina Folding Console Dining Table. What I like about it is the position of the legs and the light oak may compliment your Ercol side table etc. (It also comes in grey). It can be used as a Desk with the chair facing the wall , or as a daily Dining Table with one chair against the back positioned on the Kitchen wall and the other facing the wall. When you do have guests for a dinner party, you can adjust the Living room and just pull out the table out and add two folding chairs (that are stored elsewhere). Personally, I love the colour of the Living Room and would continue this colour all around the room and under the stairs as it would help to make the room appear larger. It also appears to be a bright room and with your light coloured flooring and armchair, would look great. With regard to lighting. I see you have a power point under the stairs. Before painting, I would ask your Electrician to channel up the wall, add a funky, contemporary wall light and make good. This would allow you to have a dimmable wall light that you could use as a task light and dim for a more intimate dinner. David Village Lighting have a great website and I have used them on many occasions. You may want to take a look at Artemide on their site. The alternative, if you did not want to use the same colour paint throughout the room would be to add a funky geometric wipeable or vinyl wallpaper. I love Elitis, Cole and Son, Tektura, etc. As you would need such a small amount, it would not be too costly. Elitis have some funky options and Cole and Son Geometric and Geometric ll could look great and have the tones that could compliment the style of your room. With regard to the two chairs that would sit by the table on a daily basis. I would potentially look at a couple of replica sites . i.e. Swiveluk.com, Bluesuntree, Vertigo etc. and pick chairs that are not too wide. (Ideally stackable). For reference, I did a job where we stored the two spare stackable chairs in the bedroom where we installed a storage bed with loads of storage under the mattress. Good luck with everything:-) Susan
