Need help decorating and arranging our living room!
Comments (5)Hi. How about this attempt for layout assuming the fire is boarded up? The sofa would be about 8ft from the tv. (There is leg room between the sofas and I drew the coffee table too far away but ignore that!), Tv can go on the wall or on a cabinet or on the wall with a console underneath and art and decorative pieces around it. Personally I wouldn't put the desk by the bay as you'd be blocking light with a screen. Would it work where the table currently is with a desk lamp?If you need storage, I'd put bits away in a cabinet or get a desk with drawers. Cafe shutters would be good or if on a budget wooden blinds can look good or voile blinds. In terms of style, what do you like? Maybe scandi or soft industriał with white boards or a mix of the two or??...See MoreNeed help with furnishing a weirdly shaped living room! (in Zurich)
Comments (4)Hi. Have you ever considered a real interesting eye catching piece of art work to really brighten up an area, I think a select piece of art would really make the space stand out, add interest, colour, texture and add a great talking point to the room.... Please check out my website if you like the idea and please get in contact, commission work is also welcomed so if you like a particular style I can do in a select colour palette and size as an original piece…..I’m also able to produce all original paintings in high end print format, in any size same or smaller than the original. (all within proportions to the original so not to cause distortion) All prints shown are Giclee prints onto soft textured fine art media. All prints come with a white border these can be made to measure too. So lots of options, www.guigsart.co.uk...See MoreNeed Ideas for Layout of New living room
Comments (9)Hello, I think your TV position is fine where it is so you could put a sectional sofa and an armchair instead of the two sofas that currently face each other. A round or an oval coffee table would also be a more balanced choice in terms of shape as currently there are too many rigid rectangles and straight corners. Good luck! Comments (2)Hi Sassy G, It's great how much natural light you are getting into this space from the patio doors and the light fixtures and fittings will help create the feel of a bigger space. For the Living Area: I would suggest a 2 seater against the back wall (as per your plan) and a small coffee table in front with your 2 cocktail chairs facing inwards. This helps create the feel of a separate living area but also accommodates for additional seating for guests. Or instead of the 2 cocktail chairs you could have an upholstered storage bench which doubles up as storage as well as seating. This is also great because it keeps the openness of the space. For the Kitchen: For the splashback I think a high gloss teal finish would look lovely here. It adds a splash of colour, its bright (but not too bright) and different and would look great against your current worktop. Paint ideas: Having an off white colour is a good choice for the living and dining area. You could also try two different paint colours for each of these rooms to help break up the space or incorporate a feature all paint colour such as Farrow and Ball 'Peignoir'. Your ideas are great and it will turn out lovely. If you need further help or advice for this project, or would like an interior designer for this I would be happy to help you - feel free to have a look at my profile or my website www.rebeccafullertoninteriors.com.
