Help needed for colours in kitchen/dining room area please
Comments (6)Claire, One easy way to avoid the area looking clinical is to add colour to your barstools. You could pick out a colour which is in your funky art pieces. For example I attach an image of three Steve Stools in Terracotta and you will see a painting on the wall, with terracotta featured. The same customer had a blind in Terracotta I don't know the colours in your Funky art, but I hope you can see the idea. Alternatively you can get splash backs in almost any colour, so add a splash back which matches your bar stools- for example:- or Finally you talk of wood being featured in parts of the kitchen. You can get barstools with wood veneer backs in various shades. For example I show the City R Stool with Walnut Veneer back. It is also available with Natural Oak or Grey Ash or Burned (Dark Brown) and the seat can be upholstered in 56 different colours In closing I attach just one of the three sample cards available. Have fun adding colour to your kitchen. Kind regards, Graeme Lang, The Barstool Man...See MoreHelp for dining room please
Comments (4)Personally I would choose the antique/black ones. They'll add more contrast and character. Nothing worse than everything being shades of the same off white and looking bland rather than chic. All your choices do look gorgeous though....See MorePlease help with the layout of my loving/dining room
Comments (1)Hi Tavolla, As you didn't provide much information, I thought I would give you a creative layout to help you think outside of the box a bit. Your living and dining rooms are very "normal" layouts in the UK and many people tent to be very unimaginative when positioning furniture and laying them out ;-) Also, I don't know anything about you or your family and usually I woudl want to know how you live before providing a layout for anyone. But I thought, no-one had given you any help yet, so why not just do a fun sketch! I also don't know your level of knowledge or design aesthetic, so please don't be offended if I explained the obvious ;-) So here is your quick layout sketch. I hope it will help you set up a lovely home. My only other note, is if you plan on hanging pendants above the table like I have drawn, ensure that they align with the centre of the opening to the living room or very obviously off centre, so that they don't look like a mistake. Be deliberate with your choices and have a good reason behind their placement. If you chose this kind of layout, the lights and the table will "steal the show", so if it were me, this is where I woudl invest my money, as they will be visible from 3 rooms - all of the time. I'd love to see photos of your finished room! Jo x...See MoreLiving room / Dining layout dilema. Please help
Comments (20)Hi, Thank you for the photos, now I have a better understanding of the whole area. Yes, the sofa looks better after turning it around, but if you`re planning to buy a new one (or loveseats), it would be better to think about some modular sofas. They are easy to move in a space and you can match different sizes and colours as well. What do you mean with the option “c) separate the nook area with 3 white wood panels hanging from the beam”? Sorry, but it was clear to me. Regarding the TV nook I was thinking about the option to leave the TV and the cabinet where they are and use the walkthrough path between the column and the half wall as a storage place (see photo). You can place there a shelving system, which can be used from the dining area as well. You mentioned that you don`t like bumping into the sofa after entering the room. What about to create a small hallway and use some room dividers to make it cosy entrance, where you can sit down to take off your shoes and leave the keys and bags on a side table? The room divider should be something massive (wood or metal), but also something transparent to avoid creating dark corners. The playing nook can be placed in the corner next to the seating area (adding extra lounge chair optionally) and the home office on the other side of the dining area . Now I hope that you have enough inspirations and options to think about. Good luck and enjoy your new layout! Regards, Mariann...See MoreBusiness_Name_Placeholder
