I would really love to see other photos of this room.

Dark rooms can look fantastic and I love this one. Would really like to see other photos to see how much natural light is coming in.

I am going through my archives. There are two windows in this room. The one pictured is west facing and the only one directly connected to the space. We have custom lined drapes and black out roman shades to eliminate all natural light when owner wants complete darkness. It truly is a man cave with strategically placed/selected light fixtures in ceiling and on walls, all dimmable.

If you put the main tv in the area with the French doors - could you see your son from the kitchen ? ( it looks like you could )... I've put together a very quick sketch of an idea to make the most of that beautiful fireplace nook - with a couple of fireside chairs - have either a round display table ( flowers /family photos etc) in the bay or add seating and use as an alternative dining / homework table ? With your 2.5 and 2.3m sofa in the French room end ... If you enable tv viewing /games etc in a tablet it could open up more opportunity too ?! Even if it's fixed in different places rather than hand held if that could be a problem ? [marketing note - this is an example of a sketch consultation service that OnePlan offer . Normal rates would be £35ph. But in this instance, we are happy to have helped this Houzzer FOC ]

We may not share artistic values but we do share one good thing... love and our life together - he's simply your typical man who loves to lounge around even when covered in dirt! We may have completely different ideas for our home but he is a good egg :) Anyway I do believe we have found common ground... surprisingly he really likes my idea of using grey with bright colours. We have agreed that as long as I stop forcing him to endure flamingos or similar, he will put up with me buying vintage and completely unnecessary furniture. He's said I can do whatever I want with those awful armchairs... WIN! I think we are going with man friendly greys meets pops of colour/vintage. It's pay day next week and I simply can't wait any longer!! Having said that... some ideas for what style of vintage and arrangements will be wonderful! Here is the photo from my kitchen door - anything attached to the walls were already there from the previous residents and will be removed... such as the mirror which isn't in line with that hideous folding table and the strange religious wall in the corner.... plus the half finished wallpaper on the chimney breast lol. x

Hi Naomi, What a great space to work with and some really fab ideas so far! We love the idea of having the gold touches against a bolder, solid colour. What about having a rich, jewel shade of blue or navy to complement, as already suggested? We love the current 'blue' trend at the moment in interiors and just feel that it adds such an elegant and opulent touch to an interior space, especially a bedroom. However, regardless of our opinion we will watch this space keenly and look forward to seeing your finished room! If we can help with any flooring or rugs you might require please get in touch!
