Curtain/blind help needed

I need some help with window dressing of some sort for my loft conversion.
I’ve got one wall with a Farrow and Ball wallpaper called Ocelot which has green/grey base and a slight shimmer of silvery grey in places.
I’ve gone for F & B Lamp Room Grey on walls and Pideon on the woodwork near the wallpaper.
One side has velux so I’ve gone for fairly plain velux blinds that will be hidden from sight during the day.
The other side with the normal window is troubling me. Do I choose a silver colour blind or curtain to pick up from the wallpaper? Will that look rather bland? Or do I go for a pattern of some description? Help!
I’ve yet to furnish the rest of it other than a bed so I’ve not managed many textures.

Do you have an accent colour in mind maybe, or are you going to stay with ultra calm greys? If you want an accent colour, i'd probably go with that as mix with the grey. If not then maybe some darker grey curtains in a nice plush cotton velvet, or chenille would look nice.

Just had a thought actually, whilst studying your pics. You've gone for white furniture, so a soft white would also look very sophisticated, but you'd have to get a nice plush material.

Agree with above comment. Depends if you want to bring in an accent colour, if so then I would bring this colour into the curtains/blind. Actually, looking at the wallpaper in artificial light I reckon a slight hint of gold might work. This fabric https://clarke-clarke.com/product/pietra-ivorygold/ would look lovely in a blind with some white/ivory linen floor length drapes just to soften the edges. Also think a geometric pattern or a luxury velvet might work. Two curtains in the pics are from collection luxe at Next.

I have no idea if they are duette or not. It's so long ago now that I can't remember what they are called but they are a pleated blind. Mine aren't black out as it's a sunroom but I'm sure you could get a black out option if needed. I have attached some more photos so you can see what they look like open. As others have said it might be worth shopping around. It's a long time since we got ours so there could well be more companies doing a similar product now.

I've been thinking about different ways i could dress my sliding doors, and i'm thinking it might be nice to go for something quite interesting rather than purely practical. So you could get some hooks or door knobs/handles or something similar that you could screw in either side, and tie a nice thick rope going across. Then you could slot through a sheer or soft style curtain and tie up with some pretty ribbon. I couldn't quite find a photo to illustrate but this is sort of similar. Hope this helps!

Hi Danni, Shutters would look fabulous with your Parisian style - they are famed for their gorgeous continental look. You ask about different styles, so I'll post a few examples for you to get a feel for them: This lilac shutter is the full-height style. That means the shutter covers the whole of the window and there is no split in the middle. It's also a custom colour choice - where you can match your shutter to practically any paint colour shade. These shutters are tier-on-tier. This means that the top and bottom slats operate independently of each other, so you can have the top ones folded back while still keeping privacy with the bottom ones closed. Finally, these shutters are café-style which means they only cover the bottom half of the window. They're perfect if you're after the privacy, but still want to make the most of the light or show off a feature such as stained glass. I’m not sure why but I do have a love of sun and shadows and so for window coverings I will always bear that in mind if the room faces south or west. And if it does I like blinds that give shadows such as Venetian, new double roller blinds with sheer panels , shutters and I’d even consider vertical in the right situation. It also depends on what time of day and what purpose you use the room for though. And if you’re overlooked, especially at night. I once had a west facing living room with mid “golden” coloured wood venetians and in that particular room the afternoon evening sun gave a magical effect. I’m not suggesting you go for that , just that you think about the light??
