Cracked kitchen cupboard door - help / inspiration needed

We are about to put our flat on the market however one of our kitchen cupboard doors has just cracked, as it’s a lower door we’re not sure what options there are without replacing the whole kitchen which we don’t want to do. Any ideas? It’s a gloss door but the company who made them no longer do. Any help would be much appreciated.

Crikey, How did that happen?

Is the kitchen relatively new or has it been fitted for quite a while; you may find that if the kitchen Is old, prospective buyers may want to replace It anyway.

Could you get a colour matched door, as close as possible? or find a second hand replacement online, eg. Gumtree / eBay /etc.

if worst comes to worst, you could possibly look at changing the doors/ end panels for the Base units only to create a two-toned kitchen.

The kitchen is 6 years old, it was a new build property, I think it’s the proximity to the oven that has caused the crack, it appeared one day. Thanks for your reply

French Grey is a lovely colour, I'd live with it for a while and the rug colour may be skewing it a little. I'd add a Roman blind to soften things, style it up a bit and see how you go. On the rug front - I think they are fine in a kitchen. Kitchens often had rugs but now it's frowned upon for some reason but they seem to be making a come-back I'm pleased to say as they add a lovely, comfortable homely feel. Find something washable, ideally a pattern, use underlay to anchor/stick it down if you're worried about slips and trips (depends on weight of rug). Size-wise, don't run it too close to units to avoid worst spills etc. The new synthetic indoor/outdoor rugs will work well or a washable cotton.

Good morning!, Well i've been at this one now for nearly 2 1/2 hours! One of the main problems is the entrance. I didn't want to incorporate the garage, as with a full house, outside storage is all important, I know just how much stuff we have in ours. I also kept in mind the your requirement for front to back access. Thus, i moved the entrance to the other side of the house ( garage side ), Hopefully when postie arrives he will naturally presume the entrance is on that side, ( i think you would! ) I split the kitchen / downstairs cloakroom to give you a much bigger cloakroom / downstairs shower room - don't know if you have dogs, but very handy for washing them and mucky kids without trapsing upstairs! This split area also gives you your Utility Room. ( However, you could have a smaller cloakroom and a bigger Utility dependant on your own requirements. ) Also, I extended slightly across the front to the left to make downstairs slightly bigger ( filling in the gap on the original plan ) - and give way to two reception rooms, so the front will be continuous with no set back. ( That part could be dependant on budget, as you could make do with a slightly smaller 2nd reception. ) So, some more planting in the front garden will ensure that you know there is no entrance on the left. Bearing in mind that a house full of kids / teenagers can be very noisy and that zoning would also be my preference, I put the two main reception rooms at the front, seperated them by a nice hallway and gave you a study / music / teenage den in the middle of the house, off the kitchen diner. The extension ( preferably full height to allow amendments to the upstairs ) gives the noisey heart of the home to the rear. If you do the full height extension it gives way further to a much larger Master bedroom suite, a family bathroom, and a seperate toilet / shower room ( All of that will be dependant on your budget. ) The build itself in my lowly opinion is infinitely do'able on your budget, where a lot of people go wrong, is that they just don't realise how much of the budget goes on refurbishing the internals, ( New Kitchen, bathroom fitting, flooring etc ) So keep a good chunk for that! Always get at least 3 quotations for the build, and try and get a fixed price one if you can. I hope that covers it, and that you can imagine what it looks like walking around the new layout. It's easy for the experts, but no so easy for the homeowner, as quite often you can get stuck on what things look like at the moment. Try and blank that out, and imagine a completely different house. Wow, thanks for the replies everyone... especially Minnie!!!!! I LOVE the first one you posted and that is exactly what I had in mind!! (The cabinet shelves at the very back of the picture!) I think they look incredibly stylish and I would imagine it will be much cheaper getting a carpenter making that instead of buying a complete (real wood) kitchen. Re the washing machine and dishwasher, yes I have these and don't mind them being on display. I also have marble worktops, hence wanting a solid base for them to go on. Is that first picture a deVol kitchen too? I wonder how much they could do one like that for?

if the images you've attached are accurate then your designer hasn't allowed for any infill between the boiler cupboard and the wall, if you have the boiler cupboard sitting on the worktop and its a single door then you won't be able to have the upstands as the door won't open. i think the only option you have is the smaller boiler cupboard and box the pipework underneath and run the upstand around the boxing.

That's a huge crack! Lots of suppliers do gloss handleless but they might be slightly different shades. I'd look around. Personally don't think it should be too hard to match.

Can you piece it back together and just glue it. Most probably won't even notice it. Especially if they want to replace it all.

Is that an IKEA kitchen? Just looking at the shallow plinth ... Ikea are only 8 to 9cm, and all others are 15cm standard, if so, getting another door is a nono unless from ikea... and I believe they still do these... if so, you'd be in luck with a cheap replacement door
