where is the industrial patio plant pot holder from?

Hi I really like the terracotta plant pots in the rusted metal shelving unit on the patio, does anyone know where this is from?

Yes I do that each morning. It stopped dropping leaves for about a month but since we have had very hot stormy windy weather here, they have started to fall again. It is probably because the plant feels stressed so hopefully now the weather is back to normal which is hot and dry, the leaves will stop falling.

It’s a jolly nice garden that just needs a few tweaks. Is the washing line retractable, if not, then swop it for one that is. That way it is tucked away against a wall or fence when not in use. Most supermarkets sell them as well as Dunelm etc. You have some wooden raised beds filled with wood chips which are crying out for low growing plants such as lavender, geraniums and aubretia. Your pots look a bit of a trip hazard as they are, so they would be better grouped together perhaps on the right of the steps? The best fence treatment is plants - climbing shrubs like honeysuckle, roses and jasmine are fast growing and stunning. Clematis are quite delicate so better grown up an obelisk or through other shrubs such as roses. My own garden is quite small and just a rectangle of sandstone paving, but I’ve surrounded it with plants to soften the edges. Here’s a couple of pics - one of today (raining!) and one last summer.

Agree with above comment, that I think you can work with the existing units until you have the budget to replace them, just give them a good clean with sugar soap, take the handles off and spray paint them in Matt black. Easy!. For me it’s the flooring and worktop that need attention. Replace flooring with a concrete effect vinyl or if you you’re painting the units then a rustic wood effect would look nice. Worktop has seen better days, at the very least put a metal end cap (not sure of correct term) at the end where it’s worn away. Tiles can be replaced/ painted, I wouldn’t expose brick behind a work surface tho because of food spills, nightmare cleaning etc. plus you could use brick effect wallpaper elsewhere in the kitchen perhaps? Some rustic plank shelves would look great instead of the wall cabinet. Hang them with simple brackets upside down for a more modern look, maybe include an under shelf wine glass rack. Use hanging racks for utensils, pots and pans etc. Lighting is also important, maybe use some metal pipes with dangly Edison bulbs. Anyway here’s some photos for inspiration (click to enlarge).

Sam it’s fab! I do love old metal containers for plants. Love the pond and the back lane planting. Who doesn’t love a bit of pink! My garden has gone crazy with all this rain and it’s a jumble of colour. No planting plan, just impulse purchases. Here’s one bit, please excuse the rain. My favourite is the orange Crocosmia. If you have space then squeeze one in somewhere. 😊🌸
