Brick walls and cedar ceiling can't be changed as they occur all through the house.
Layout works well.
What colours should we use for benchtops and cabinets.
I did post this earlier but with nighttime pics.
The attached pics are daylight ones .. might help you see the context better.

Comments (43)I thought I'd update everyone as to what we settled on as most of you won't have seen the finished post. Went went for Little Greene French Pale Grey on the walls and then a Grey Quartz worktop which had worked quite well. To stop it from being clinical, we opted for some textured wallpaper in the dining area which is Bala Storm (I think) from John Lewis. We then added some natural tones using a wooden table, and then Vitra chairs. For your floorplans I would really suggest that you start from scratch! If the interior space hasn't been considered and its just been a set of plans to look good at the front for the purposes of planning, then there is a high likelihood that they are not going to give you the high quality of life that you are probably hoping for from your forever home. It's easy to make a house look good once you've got the layout right, it's a lot harder to make it work well inside and feel like an enjoyable and easy space to live in when you just have a volume that looks good from the front. Comments (12)It looks very top heavy and i think its partly due to the 2 supporting wall units [I assume you have a couple of working cupboards] which look like they're 900 tall so your extractor is really high up, it would of looked/worked better with medium [720 ish] units so the canopy part is lower. I'd see if you can completely remove the 2x 300 tall wall units and lower just the top section so it was at or below the beam in the wall. Ideally you'd have a 700/750mm gap with an electric/induction hob. you might have to do something with the splashback as well though as it looks like its the same as the worktop....See More

5 years agoThat’s a great kitchen, the view is fabulous, I think replacing fridge with s/steel one ( no magnets on door) add s/steel stools , fab white bowls along top of cupboards then take another look, it looks great in photos, if anything replace bench top, quartz as suggested could look great, I think it’s a pretty awesome area , lucky you, I would be so happy if my kitchen had your outlook.
But on saying that if you want a complete new kitchen I am sure you will get some great ideas from other Houzzers
