Help for my tiny garden
Comments (26)Shed is black now and looks much better. I am deliberating on whether to paint the doors black or another colour. The planters or stands are clay and lavender, the inside of the shed is silver birch but looks grey mauve in daylight. I've started to paint the fence black too and quite like the "aged" look of the green coming through. I'm waiting for a quote on the hard landscaping and wish he'd hurry as I can only start the planting once it's agreed....See MoreStruggling with my tiny odd shaped garden
Comments (17)We have a large front garden yes - but wouldn't really sit out there. Patio slabs can stay but happy to move/re-do its not huge area so not ££. We are going to move the bins down the side - its hard as that is our drive so there is not alot of room. But deciding to sacrifice drive for more garden as I love a garden even if it is a small space! sounds good like the idea of raised decking was thinking about that to add interest / might make it look bigger. If it helps pic of site plan you can see what I mean re garden, shed and where parking is! We are number 12...See Moreback garden shed - colour?!
Comments (11)Hi all, thank you so much for such fabulous suggestions. I love all of these ideas...now just to pick one! Good to know about sad in superficial thanks tamp75 as I hadn’t come across this before. I do love green so I am drawn to the idea of old English green or wild thyme as suggested by Sonia. I also love the pale grey Warm Stone that tamp75 suggested as I have lots of these type of shades inside - I think our builder described that look which I think is quite popular at the moment as ‘50 shades of grey’! (I did say I was into neutrals!). I also love the silver copse or urban slate, especially as I had thought about that kind of colour originally but was worried the garden was too small for it, I also love how the green of plants would pop against that. I certainly love your idea of trellis across the front Mark and I will definitely be doing this. Colour happy I love your idea for the pale orange rose and I would never have thought of this on my own. I have a yellow rose and white clematis on the fence by the bifolds (yet to flower as this is their first year) so I think a pale orange rose would be a lovely addition...See MoreAdvice to make my garden private again please.
Comments (7)I bought a dwarf Apple tree from www.blackmoor.co.uk this year and it was an excellent quality tree. Only a baby tree but we got 3 absolutely delicious apples from it! It is called Spartan and the apples are such a lovely red colour. And Apple trees are not poisonous to dogs if they accidentally chew some of it. Shrubs could also be an option as many grow to 10ft or more. Things like Viburnum Tinus - evergreen with pinky white flowers in winter Ceanothus - evergreen with lovely blue flowers in May Photinia - evergreen with red tipped leaves in spring Fatsia japonica - evergreen and tough despite its exotic looks There are lots of shrubs that will do the job but I’ve grown the ones above and they are easy. Not sure how safe with dogs though. Here’s some pics VIBURNUM TINUS CEANOTHUS PHOTINIA FATSIA JAPONICA...See MoreNordikka - Bespoke Furniture & Steel Doors
