My Bathroom backwall challenge!
Comments (17)Dear Elaine, You are more than welcome! It is actually possible to keep the brick wall even if you will have the shower against it. The only thing that has to be done, the Bathroom has to be properly sealed, behind the tiles and the corners of the shower. Also, you can choose to have a channel drain underneath the shower, so the brick wall would be protected as all water would be collected in the drain. Are you going to have a shower tray or flat floor? Don't give up on it, as you could make your Bathroom look special, unique and stylish like no one has. Also, bricks are waterproof so you don't need to worry yourself. If you still unsure you can get the fake bricks to make a replica of the one you have. From my view of point you would give your Bathroom a great style so why waste those lovely features? Other people would pay to have one like that. Don't worry if the brick wall is not even as that can be fixed easily and even leaving it like that would look still good! You can tile two of your walls, and again there are so many styles you can pick or combine together. Have you thought of tiling the wall till half way only? I love the idea of having a stone wall, perhaps you could could cover one with stones the other one with wall tiles? For more inspiration I would like to list some more images for you. First and second one features some contemporary light installation both looking nice. I could imagine something similar to the second image in your Bathroom, however you can always pick different or multiple colours. Last image features a Traditional style Bathroom with brick wall detail. Let me know if you have further questions! StJames Design Interiors...See MoreSplash back?
Comments (19)Hi, microcement is perfect for kitchen splashbacks. 3mm thick when applied correctly, highly durable, waterproof, seamless...I could go on. Its available in 30 standard colours and had the effect of stone or marble depending on the technique applied. Good luck with your project, please visit http://wallstothefloor.co.uk or email enquiries@wallstothefloor.co.uk for more information good luck...See Morecovering kitchen's wall with ceramic or just paint
Comments (2)Painting gives you the option to change the colour/look of your kitchen as often as you want. Tiling is a little more permanent, perhaps go for a tiled splashback if you like the look but don't want to commit to the whole room? Hope this helps :)...See Moreideas for kitchen wall and splashback?
Comments (12)Maybe others will have ideas but you seem a bit limited in what you can do or to me anyway assuming you chose the glass lid for safety. I'd paint the walls in a washable, moisture resistant paint (I might look at little Greene ). If you still want a splashblack of sorts you could just paint in a splashblack which could look quite effective or maybe use a metallic leaf or the microcement/polished plaster could work, I'm just not sure how thick it is but I believe it's extremely thin (I will see if I can find a pic if you like that idea). You could always add shelves over the sink...See MoreA T
