Ian Dunn Woodwork & Design was established since 1981 by Ian Dunn. We have over 30 years of experience in designing and producing both traditional and modern furniture. We love kitchens – they are the hub of the modern home with areas to cook, eat, relax, socialise and such an important part of the home to get right!
Our experienced team know how to interpret and realise your dream interiors, every project is unique and we love a challenge! We specialise in bespoke cabinetry with a team of highly skilled craftsmen and designers have an exceptional eye for detail, building a range of domestic and commercial furniture, from kitchens and bathrooms to fitted and freestanding furniture. Our cabinetry range from traditional to contemporary, whilst also producing designs to compliment existing property features.
We ensure each project is managed impeccably from start to finish with our designers. We work closely with architects, interior designers, builders and clients assisting and suggesting a wide range of fittings and finishes.
We pride ourselves in using timber from responsible suppliers with FSC, PEFC or SFI certifications, thus minimising our carbon footprint.

Ian and his team built bespoke wardrobes for a bedroom as a part of an extensive renovation of our home. The end product looked the part but was not perfect in terms of the finish. We suffered from repeated delays with little notice and lack of communication about timing and actions to be taken to rectify a number of issues and unfinished works. A lot of chasing emails were needed to achieve a response.

We engaged Ian and his team to produce all the bespoke joinery (except the kitchen) as part of a large scale house renovation and extension project.
Ian and the team assisted us through ever stage of the process; we had a clear vision of what we wanted in some areas, which was successful brought out in the design process, whilst in other areas he had excellent ideas and suggestions of how we might do things differently.
The quality of the final product was excellent and Ian and the team dealt very effectively with the issues which arose along the way. I would strongly recommend them.

It was certainly worth the wait and I have already placed another order for some additional items. The price reflects the professional workmanship which has never been cheap in any profession, but it has been worth it.

I commissioned Ian Dunn Woodwork & design to produce a number of wardrobes, a desk and office storage, TV unit and hall bench for a client. The furniture pieces were produced to a very high standard with oak drawer boxes throughout and sprayed doors/ veneered wood to suit each room scheme. I found all contacts at the company to be very helpful, easy to work with and knowledgeable. Although there were some delays to the project, they were highly responsive to snagging issues and I felt they went the extra mile to ensure both I and my client were delighted with the final outcome.

Part of my job is to visit and look at the spec of high-worth homes in order to market them effectively. I have seen thousands of kitchen diners (I've been in the business for 14-years). This was exceptional; drawers were beautifully dovetailed-the joining was superb and the whole kitchen was remarkable. I asked Ian Dunn Woodwork & Design to provide a quote for bespoke joinery for a bathroom project. I provided a few photos and one rough sketch of what I had in mind. Ian did the initial consultation and survey, and followed up with a very detailed design and quotation very soon afterwards. I have been very impressed with the service received. Ian listened exactly to what I requested and delivered a perfect drawing of my requirements. Regrettably our circumstances changed, and we were unable to take the project to the next stage, but I would have no hesitation in reconsidering Ian Dunn Woodwork and Design at some point in the future. I think the website is very user friendly, and the quality of materials and craftmanship is excellent. Based on my recent experience, and having seen Ian's work in friends' houses, I would have no hesitation in recommending Ian Dunn Woodwork and Design.

Industrial style kitchen renovation in central London. Design process was iterative and very consultative. Ian and Marta were both very helpful and willing to integrate rather atypical solutions/requests.
Requirement was for industrial-style kitchen in a high-use environment. Generally good communication, and always happy to resolve any issues that came up. Although the project ran significantly over time, this was mostly due to builder/supplier delays and our challenging specifications.
Very happy with the final result, which meets all our expectations.

Flexible approach during planning stage prior to fitting them. Great attention to detail, for example preserving the line of original cornice in the rooms and resting electrical sockets as necessary. Wardrobes made in workshop. No dust and minimal upheaval involved. Pleasing handpainted finish. Good communication throughout.

Ian and team produced a group of connected units across a wall in a new extension, comprising two wardrobes, sets of drawers and cupboards with bookshelves over them, allowing us to use the room as a bedroom, library or office. His detailed design captured what we were after and his workmanship was of high quality - we are pleased with the result.
