Ceiling light is a great way to add interest to plain ceilings and an ideal way to provide light from above, especially when short in space. Here are the top tips helping you choose your perfect ceiling light:

*Start with deciding WHERE you want your ceiling light. Spaces such as; corridors, living areas and bedrooms are the most common to have ceiling lights. According to the space, you will choose a suitable lighting.

*Then you should MEASURE the height of the space, giving you the idea of how much space you are going to have. You can then decide whether your space is suitable to have a hanging ceiling light or something minimal.

*Finally, you can choose the STYLE you think will suit your space. It’s important for your interior to have a language in style and lighting is the leading element in a room

Craig, your question on Lighting Control. The rise of LED has brought new dimension to the lighting control debate. Lighting Control Systems such as Lutron are the best way to dim LED. We use Lighting Control Systems with 0-10v, DALI and DMX dimming and it's possible to get very smooth dimming to really low levels. I don't really want to suggest one system over another. I'm sure they all have their strengths. Rako offers wireless flexibility for retrofit applications, Lutron has a superb heritage and history of fantastic reliability. I'd look for dealers who are really experienced in using the system and a manufacturer with a strong local support infrastructure. Here’s some 5 quick tips on choosing paint: Don’t always default to the most expensive. Whilst the most expensive paints have some fabulous pigments in them, there are also some good quality alternatives, see e-paints to compare colours from the most expensive to some good quality trade options. Buy sample pots. Don’t make the mistake of buying a large pot of paint if you haven’t tested out whether or not it will work in the room it is destined for. The light in the room can make the paint look darker or lighter than you expect, and change over the course of the day or not match your existing furnishings. Test the paint colour out. Paint the sample onto a large piece of white cardboard paper and hang it up in the room you wish to paint to see if the colour works – if necessary move the cardboard painted sample around the room to see how the light hits it in different places. Buy the right paint type. If in doubt, get advice from your paint shop. If it’s for a kitchen or bathroom you’ll need a paint that can cope with steam or if it’s for a high traffic area, something more durable will be needed. There are also different paints for wood and metal work, interiors and exteriors. Prime and prepare the surface! Before you paint, ensure the surface area is clean and smooth then apply the undercoat or primer before painting the chosen top coat. 1. Keep to a routine, get dressed & brush teeth. Attire can be casual but definitely needs to be different clothes than the ones you slept in or lounge about on the weekends in. Wash face, comb hair and brush teeth. These tell your brain this is a work day. 2. Use an app to remind you to take a break. You won't have the regular office interruptions so can get hyperfocused. 3. Avoid using the TV for background noise. If needed, play audio files (they even make office noise backgrounds, but I'm more partial to either coffee shop, crackling fire, or ocean) 4. Good ergonomic setup. This can be done affordably without causing disruption to your household. There are great videos that show you how to create a better physical space when you work from home, even if you are working from the dining table. 5. Stick to boundaries. 'Clock out' at the end of your normal work time and shut things down so you aren't tempted to check one more thing. At the end of my work from home days, I will shut down the laptop and then physically leave my flat and lock the door. If I'm lucky I'll take the opportunity for a walk outside around the block but usually I just immedialy unlock the door and re-enter the flat. This seems to give me the pavlovian click that I've left work and now I'm home.
