Is there a fitting to fix the cable to the ceiling ? What colour finish and shape is it ? Is it same finish as the pendant ?

Hello fhparis I painted my 1980's fitted dark brown wardrobes a year ago. I was able to remove a shelf which i used to practice on and to get an idea of the finish i could achieve. Or indeed if i could do it. Your wardrobes are lighter in colour which is a plus. I mentioned the products i used in an earlier post. Dont underestimate how long it will take to do. I think i applied 3 undercoats and at least 3 top coats. It was well worth the effort and cost a fraction of buying new wardrobes. The pics show 2 sets of painted wardrobes. Hi, dear reader and contributor @HomeMood Interior Design. I am overwhelmed with receiving an answer and with your suggestions! I have been sleeping on this for a long time now (over an year) and I came to a point when I need to know! :) Anyone else knows the feeling? The reason I was only seeing my option in blue as possible was symmetry. I fully agree with the suggestion of using two armchairs instead of the three chairs. Great thing is, I have both the armchairs and the chairs so I can experiment with both. But in the bottom of my heart, I really wanted and needed someone to come and tell me that it is possible to do this another way! And - did I create that through the law of attraction? Here is a link to the table we have to use with the soffa, and it is a convertible! (i.e it grows into a dining table!) https://youtu.be/UOeYWYCNHQY My only concern remains that in the alternative option you are suggesting (and I was longing for!) only 1.5 seats of the soffa get a TV view and 1.5 seats get a fireplace view. Would an L-shape/soffa plus one armchiar work, along with moving the book shelf to the dining area? Many thanks P.S. Amazing suggestions so far, thank you so much! The house is three stories high at the back, so painting anything out of reach isn't manageable at the moment unfortunately. Also, we're in a deep valley, and the yard is west-facing. In mid-summer it's nice and sunny all day, but in the winter it gets far less sun but a lot of wind! This is partly why bamboo isn't really a long-term option as it won't withstand the great British weather (and why only one of the bamboo'ed gate has survived since last year!). The ivy was attached over the bamboo, because it only cost £10 and provided some 'greenery'. I cable-tied it onto the gate as a short-term measure after the bamboo fell off. As this is our only outdoor space, and there is no street parking at all (very busy main road at the front of the house), then we do need to keep parking available as we'll be looking to sell and move on in the next few years. I hadn't thought of outdoor rugs though - brilliant idea! Perhaps with a few planters on wheels and rugs, the patchy concrete will be adequately disguised. After measuring up outside and taking photos, I wondered if a small pergola attached to the house and the brick wall might be an idea? That would also give somewhere to attach a shade too, and a swing seat (thus solving the seating/shade option in one go). I painted the gates last summer, with hammerite, and it took forever! So, they'll be staying that colour for the foreseeable I think 😆. I'd like to attach something to the inside of the gate that's opaque. Maybe featherboard? What it looks like from the outside is of absolutely no concern to me, as that's not the bit we'll see (nor is it overlooked by any windows/other gardens, so it's only passing walkers who would see it). The wardrobes will be free standing Chloe or that might be a solution. My husband is designing them and will build them himself. The challenge with the curtain rail is that the ceiling immediately above the window frame slopes upwards. It's the eaves across the front of the house. It's only a short slope, maybe 20-30cm until full room height but it impacts options for a curtain rail fixing. In the equivalent room downstairs the rail is fitted to the ceiling which works perfectly, but I don't think it would work properly if fixed on a slant. We'll get there in the end! Thanks for all the suggestions.
