Plaid sofa need help with styling my living room!
Comments (3)Yellow or orange is a great counterpoint for cushions for the sofa and maybe a rug. Curtains are more expensive to replace so it may be best to keep them neutral. There's a cute modern style rug from habitat with a grey & yellow pattern. Take a swatch of your check and see how well it matches....See MoreHelp with 5 year olds room -paint, wallpaper, overall design and theme
Comments (26)Hi. I hope you don't mind me saying but the stage area may be outgrown quite quickly unless you put in a big stage but I'm not sure there's the room. If you do go for a stage, I'd put it in the top left corner as you come through the door with the bed in the right corner with the pink style canopy (which should just fit?). Personally I love the canopy pictured against the wall (you can also tuck drapes out of harms way) and it will grow with your daughter. Your daughter certainly knows her own mind btw! The striped wallpaper would be good on that back bed wall with a canopy. You could mix striped wallpaper with patterned on the other walls if she wants that ie the stars? I would probably try and keep it a little simple though with the feature wall and duck egg on others if you want the room to last. I love the pink and green lights in your pic, maybe someing similar with pink and duck egg? . Maybe try some decals in the dressing table area or go for the star wallpaper?...See MoreStyle help for narrow lounge
Comments (13)Seeing the room from this angle, I wonder if there is any way to position the TV close to the fireplace, so that the sofa could go where the TV is now? That way, you get to enjoy the cosiness of the fire while you watch TV. Would the TV fit between the fire and window, or could it go above the fire? I would build some bookshelves against the wall in the alcove, and replace the small sofa with a couple of chairs- although it's a lovely sofa, so maybe you could use it in another room. Add a reading lamp and small coffee table to the alcove and you create a comfy space to curl up in - the low ceiling actually works to your advantage there. I would definitely inject some more colour - start with one thing you love, be it a cushion, painting or vase, and build a colour scheme from there.
