Exterior paint colour

We've just purchased a project and we're looking for advice on colours for painting the outside of the house. Although I'm not keen on brown windows they're in good condition so we won't be changing them. I'm also going to paint the wood work and door. It's quite dull at the front but bright and sunny at the back. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I think some sort of off white would make it look lovely and bright, with lots of green plants outside underneath that front window.

Are you going to paint the window frames? If so I would make them darker than the render colour. I recently painted my render and I'm really pleased with the colour. We replaced the windows - the colour is Teknos matched to Light Grey Farrow and Ball. Here is a before and after. Here is a before and after, almost finished.

You could go for a warm grey scheme like Elephants Breath on the render, Charleston Gray on the woodwork and a different colour on the door like Brassica (all F&B), or if you prefer a traditional grey, purbeck stone render and moles breath on all the woodwork. You could always ask a F&B colour consultant on their facebook page.

Hi, The use of formal colours or more colourful colours as render is on personal preference. Whilst blue looks lovely, I personally prefer more neutral colours to paint with: If you would like to frame the windows, I'd consider a sort of stone shade of paint or light taupe with a pinkish hint. Love the green. I had a similar era house but this one is was in Australia. If it's not too dissimilar, I found in my research they loved to paint up the details. And the colour schemes had up to 4 colours. I'd find that the windows would be a different colour than the window frames and so on. I don't think anyone needs to follow the original schemes but often they can look great on these houses. Anyways, that traditional dark warm cream, heading towards brown that they loved might be nice for render or timbers. Some thing like York White or Bathstone Beige by Dulux.
