living room renovation
Comments (16)Hi. Have you ever considered a real interesting eye catching piece of art work to really brighten up the area, once your renovation is complete....I think a select piece of art would really make the space stand out, add interest, colour, texture and add a great talking point to the room.... Please check out my website if you like the idea and please get in contact, commission work is also welcomed so if you like a particular style I can do in a select colour palette and size as an original piece…..I’m also able to produce all original paintings in high end print format, in any size same or smaller than the original. (all within proportions to the original so not to cause distortion) All prints shown are Giclee prints onto soft textured fine art media. All prints come with a white border these can be made to measure too. So lots of options, www.guigsart.co.uk...See MorePlug sockets and living room
Comments (0)Hi there - I am in the process of trying to finish my living room which is a long old process but I just wanted some advice. Currently the room is as per the pics - I have plans for a gallery wall around the tv as well which I am still collecting pictures for. I know it is a small detail in the grand scheme of things but the plug sockets next to the larger sofa are irritating me and I am wondering if anyone has; A. Any ideas for covering them up Or b. Any ideas how easy and cheap it is to move the sockets down to the bottom of the wall so they are behind the ottoman, having no idea on that myself. I'm also still feeling the room isn't quite there so any ideas to finish it off a bit more or improve on would be appreciated - thanks in advance!...See MoreElectrical Plans for an Open Plan Layout
Comments (13)USB sockets seem like a great idea, until you have them and realise that most smart devices require more "umph" through it's plug/own adapters rather than the weedy trickle out of the USB socket and you end up never using the USB's. It's worth noting that there is nothing special about the wiring to these, so can be swapped once you have been using the space and know where you need them. Interesting spots for ethernet, I would have through they would dominate the TV area more than anything, to get the TV, game consoles etc off the wireless network, reduce the load, leaving laptops and tablets with more freedom and reliable connection rather than be tethered by cables at designated points. Thats an awful lot of sockets for a larder!... youre having worktops in there instead of full shelving?, I cant imagine wanting to use a worktop in such a small space when theres a lovely amount of it in the kitchen....See MoreTV in open plan living space or in separate room?
Comments (9)It all depends on your lifestyle - we have a separate TV room and it means we go there to watch specific programs rather than having a TV on in the background whilst we are doing other things. We have so much screen time these days with our phones that i feel we don't need a TV in a room where we are doing other activities and particularly not where we are eating as mealtimes are often the only moments families get to sit down and talk together. It means you have another room to entertain, read or chat without TV noise & distraction....See Morebookworm987
