Plug sockets and living room

Hi there - I am in the process of trying to finish my living room which is a long old process but I just wanted some advice. Currently the room is as per the pics - I have plans for a gallery wall around the tv as well which I am still collecting pictures for. I know it is a small detail in the grand scheme of things but the plug sockets next to the larger sofa are irritating me and I am wondering if anyone has;

A. Any ideas for covering them up
Or b. Any ideas how easy and cheap it is to move the sockets down to the bottom of the wall so they are behind the ottoman, having no idea on that myself.

I'm also still feeling the room isn't quite there so any ideas to finish it off a bit more or improve on would be appreciated - thanks in advance!

Hi, I would advise you to create a list of furniture and decor you want to have in your room. This is the most important thing for interior designers. This list makes you understand how many electric devices you need. After you've created a list of everything you want in your room, put it on a plan. It's important everything is scaled. I created a simple plan as an example. Let's say you decided to have your TV on the right hand wall. What do you have there? TV, speaker/speakers, DVD, SKY? Then calculate how many plugs you need and add 1-2 extra in case you have more devices later. The same is for the left hand wall. Analyse, what you want to have there. I would put (on my plan, yours can be different) a couple of plugs near a sofa and an armchair, so that if you need to charge your phone, laptop or put there a floor lamp you have a plug. Think about extra plugs for such things as a hover (unless you have a wireless one), heater (if you use one in a cold time) etc. Hope this information was useful. Anna

In addition, you could also hard wire the table lamps and look at dimmable lights. There are various downlighters calculators online to check that you have sufficient lighting for the rooms purpose based on room size and ceiling height. Downlights don't need to be in a grid formation and you may want to look at lighting your cabinet and bookcase (or their replacement) for example. For the dining room I would choose the light based on the table i.e. If you're getting another long table maybe a linear light would work and make sure it's large enough for everyone to be able to see what they're eating! Brass light switches with plastic plug sockets?

Hi I'd definitely recommend spending a little extra and having the Brass sockets to match the Togle Light switches. I worked for a client in Norfolk, who had everything matching with togle switches too,(you can see pics on my projects page) and the difference between the standard white sockets to having the matching Brass, is undeniable, and makes the space looking 'finished' as apposed to maybe changing in future. Some prefer the more discrete look of a clear sockets or white socket on a light wall, but if there's budget, and you're drawing the eye already to the togle switch and I'm assuming you like the Brass colour in this room, why not add this with other sockets and accessories etc. Hope this helps! Hi. You could push the sofa towards the conservatory a bit and then have a small accent chair with a low back to the left of the tv angled towards the sofa (Looks to be the space by eye). There are loads of small round side tables around ATM, maybe one next to the chair and then a rectangular one/ones/floor lamp one side next to the sofa? I would zone the main seating area with a rug. Maybe keep a chair where it is ATM but go for a Swivel one similar to pictured so it could face the garden/tv etc and then have a bookcase/display to the left of the fire? (Or you could swap chair and bookcase around and push the chair towards the burner). if you were to extend in the future I don't' know if I'd extend the kitchen side, maybe wrapped around, and take down the conservatory?
