Renovating Design Dilemma Kitchens

We are having an issue with making the right deci when it comes to our kitchen. Kitchen has 3 doors (as per photo) the one to right is an external door, one at the bottom leads to hallway we do not really use and one next to it is leading to lounge dinner.

We arr prepared to block hallway door for extra storage space, but do we knock down the wall between kitchen and lounge or do we keep it? Ideas please!

i would knock the wall out, replace it with a island with over a meter space for entry to the kitchen

Something along these lines could work - and give you better room between range and island and allow the fridge freezer to be opened fully ... extra cabinets in the dining room provide additional storage if required... I’ve added images into a shared folder with public access for you. Hope it helps ! Hi Isla and Jonathan. Thank you very much for your suggestions! Isla - I agree with you about about not seeing much point in having the breakfast bar close to the dining table. An L shaped kitchen could be an option I just want to get as much counter space as possible and think I may lose some this way? Jonathan- thanks so much, I really appreciate you doing visual plans this helps a lot. This does seem like a more functional/practical design. I also did not think about the fridge door space in the old design (especially when removing fridge shelves) being tight. In your plan, the wall indents around the sofa on the play area where as the wall in my kitchen goes completely straight across (as in the first plan you sketched) . Do you think the U - shape would still work? Do you see space for an integrated microwave, to save more countertop space? Thanks again Both, your advice ever so helpful.

Morning, I too prefer the sink on the left but.... as I've measured the alcove wrong and can't fit in a sink and dishwasher together as I had planned, I cant find a way of putting the sink in the alcove now (which is 1290 long) and not losing the corner cupboard? Ie sink could go in the corner which would be easier but I need to also fit in a water heater for it (so need to access it or can these go in cupboards above??) and the dishwasher. If I put the hob on the main run then I need more than 800 space in the walkway no? That means a shorter depth peninsular and then I can't put cupboards under there and have seating. argh. It's driving me insane, haha. See new pic below. I had to offset the hob across the width so leaving the space to the left required by regs. It's not ideal but means I can access all the corner cupboard then.
