So just looking at the previous comment you replied saying it was £3400 - can you confirm the price please & where in ireland is it to be collected thanks

@JenP - Yes it was a max budget of 40k...and I have every single budget meeting all around 38-40k; but then at the very end he explained his error which was on every sheet over the six months!!! This error (not carrying over the figure) meant he got the final totals wrong...and its now 50k. @jonathan - OK good to hear about your mum and I agree with everyone and will get legal advice. In my case, it wasn't even that the work hours or materials were higher, it was his calculations on paper - so the individual totals all work listed, but his actual final totals (and what he would advise me when I would have my monthly budget meeting) were continually incorrect - until he realised the mistake at the very end. Lesson Learned: Even when given a printed budget, always recalculate the totals yourself! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR ADVICE AND TIME - I will update here once I have an outcome. The good news is that I love my apartment and the quality of work is beautiful.

Price difference, between Amazon and super stores

I probably wouldn’t buy very large items online, unless I had tried them out in-store first. Of course buying online gives you greater protection due to Distance Selling Rules whereby if an item doesn’t fulfil your expectations you have 30 days to return it, as you hadn’t see the item beforehand. It is your statutory right, so you have the right to return it, but packaging up a bed for return won’t be easy! I don’t find Amazon that cheap anymore. Are you comparing like for like? Something may appear cheaper, but it may be inferior quality. I also find Amazon do pass the buck if you want to return an item sold by one of their Marketplace sellers - they expect you to contact the seller direct which is just annoying, I feel. However they do get involved if the seller doesn’t help you. Price isn’t always my main priority, mine is do they deliver into the room of your choice, do they assemble item and remove all the packaging? Just my opinion Mel!
