Comments (23)Hi Michael, Sorry, but I have to partially disagree with you on this, daylight colour temperature is 6500K not 4000K. Yes, 4000K is warmer than 6500K but it does not give a truer representation of colour. Colour representation is measured using the colour rendering index or CRI. The closer to 100, the closer to daylight. The Megaman LEDs are 80 CRI for each of the colour temperatures. That said, the 4000K fitting will produce a brighter and cleaner feel to the room. However, it can look too harsh at night. 2700K is closer to traditional halogen fittings. It can look duller during the day, but looks a lot more welcoming in the evening - perfect for a soak in the bath. It comes down to personal preference in the end...See MoreColour to go with F&B 'Railings'...?
Comments (18)Hi Jackie, Here is a closeup photo of the wall upstairs with the pictures illuminated with a spotlight in the ceiling. As our hallway is very small, it's hard to get a good zoomed out photo, but I'll put one up when I get a chance. The house is still a work in progress, but downstairs we are going to build a recess into the wall and sit an orange glass vase in it. This contrasts really well against the Railings.... Lighting wise, I assume that you have an attic above the hall. Is it boarded or do you have access to the ceiling and wiring still? If this is the case, you can get an electrician to fit spots for you after decorating is complete if you need a bit more light in there. Do you get much natural light into the hall? I can see in your photo that the front door is solid, is there a window next to it? Our front door is partially glazed and faces West. We get the evening sun through the door and it changes the Railings colour from dark grey to a much lighter Bluey green grey : ) Thanks, Peter...See MoreWall colour to go with Pointing and Hague Blue kitchen units
Comments (8)Now I think you have a good point there. Choosing a deeper neutral sounds good. I’m a fan of colour and I have a Dulux minty green in my kitchen, F&B Cromarty in my sitting room, Dulux Egyptian Cotton in the bedroom and aqua in the other bedroom. All these shades are soft though so not garish, apart from a navy feature wall in kitchen. Dulux do some lovely neutral shades like Perfectly Taupe, Chic Shadow and Polished Pebble. Of course colours are affected by the light in the room and those sort of shades can look a bit grim in a dark north facing room. PERFECTLY TAUPE CHIC SHADOW POLISHED PEBBLE...See MoreBlack or grey bi folds with grey kitchen
Comments (13)I would put black in. Goes with everything. I just put black in my kitchen and I love them. They will go well with your colour scheme. personally having different colour windows upstairs and downstairs would irritate me (so much that I changed all my upstairs windows to black to match)....See MoreSonia
