why different names for the same colour in this room ?

right of the chimney breast, wise diamond , top left beside colour boxes, pretty peacock , in another picture of the boxes shelves to the right . its called jewel creek 4 ? what is the actual colour of the chimney breast and the room ?, as I would like to use that colour for the walls in my living room

Hi, I have a small Victorian terrace house with the typical 22ft long, narrow living room. At one end I have a solid oak dining table with dark chocolate coloured chairs. At the other end will be the sofa which I haven't bought yet. I have chosen leather for it's durability and easy cleaning as I have a dog. I have picked a sofa based on looks, comfort, fillings etc. It comes in a choice of leathers. My question is, can I have two different shades of brown leather in the same room? I don't want them to match. The walls will probably be white and I plan on having a white or similarly neutral coloured fabric wing back chair by the sofa next to the fire which will kind of sit between the two items in question. I (think) I have posted a picture of the chairs and the two possible sofa swatches side by side. This is my first house, I 've never had to decorate before!? Thank you in advance : )

Honestly................and just my opinion...............we live in really old cottage, some of the architraves are original, some are not. I don't think anyone actually notices! All the doors match, that you probably would notice. I guess I'm saying, it probably doesn't matter as long as the doors match, otherwise that would look odd. I think you're probably best with the same everywhere. It's hopefully the kitchen and colour, flooring that people notice not door architrave.

I think you could go various ways. I like the rug, can it go under the sofa feet? (Hard to tell how wide it is from the photo). The art seems a bit small, it often works better if it's hung just a few inches over the sofa to connect with it. I'm not sure if this art is big enough though as 4 seater sofa sizes vary. I'd probably repeat the brass for a coffee table or floor lamp and then I've picked up colours in the art for cushions but maybe vary the texture with linen etc rather than just all velvet. I think it will look great once furnished and accessorised 😊
