Hi Cesca, as your kitchen is quite dark I would go for white cupboards and natural wood worktops, something like your table and chairs. This I would live without changing as I think they looks very nice. I would move the table 50cm from the kitchen cabinets and put some nice carpet just under the table and the chairs to make the space warmer and more cozy. I would paint the walls with light green and add some colourful details. White ir light grey curtains would also make your kitchen look special. If one day you decide to change the floor go for natural wood.

Hi, you might want to look at Plain English by British Standard, DeVOL or Higham (this one should be the most cost effective) kitchens as alternatives. It also might be worth a while to check your local joineries to see what they have on offer and if they could deliver your design. Kitchen is often a long term investment, so might be worth upping your budget to get something that will last and that you will truly enjoy. Make sure you choose good mechanisms for drawers etc. Blum is the way forward here.

Yes you can. To be honest, I slap the zinsser on and then two coats of really good undercoat and sand that. I always use Rustins undercoat which is water based and then if possible go over with oil based top coat. Others may have other recommendations for which undercoat. I find the people at Brewers are generally really helpful as they are constantly dealing with trade customers. I bought this tool on a recommendation and it is really useful for defluffing the edges of painted mdf. My house was full of conker brown varnish and I painted over veluxes with zinsser and it really works. It stinks (contains meths) and it with ruin the brushes but it's good stuff.
