office layout study

Hi please can I get your thoughts on organising study I could do with another bookshelf and am looking to put a wall to wall bookshelf where the frame is positioned
Any suggestions will be appreciated

Hi,

Would two bookcases fit next to each other on the back wall? You'd probably have to move the desk more towards the entry door so it won't be centred under the window.

Or, one bookcase next to the desk (where the wall light is) and the other on the back wall with wall shelves next to it.

I'd hang the painting above the radiator.

How large is the bed in the master bedroom? If it is a standard size double you may wish to consider reconfiguring to fit a superking bed. This could be achieved by reducing the height of the 'his dressing' cupboard (assuming you have no full-length garments), something which may make it easier to fit larger rooflights (if allowed). As minnie101 points out the existing floorplan gives you loads of storage but do you need it all? A more radical step could be to share the 'hers dressing' 50:50, have built-indrawers running along the top of the property (where 'his dressing' is), make the top right storage area smaller (or even eliminate), and have even larger windows/rooflights than One Plan suggested.

Just a quick update to report back! I decided against colours and left the whole room white. I still haven't quite decided what to do with the wall in front of my desk (that was originally planned for painting) but I'm thinking some cork boards for notes or some storage for paperwork. I've attached a photo of the room so far. Thank you all for your contributions!

Thank you for your help. I was thinking of putting a large bookcase on wall that backs onto utility room but I want to get the desk location right first. I just need plenty of storage and enough space to work on a laptop. I would like the room to double up as a nice reading room too I think. I was hoping to have it as an office and craft room but it's just not big enough for crafting in I don't think, and my husband likes the idea of it also being a reading room too.

Thank you all. I’m up to my eyes with tradesmen as this is a full house Reno so days are disappearing . Hoping photos come through this time. Taken from the doorway looking towards conservatory which is the “window” . Only other windows are two small original lead lights to either side of French doors. No fireplace. Other aspects if the home will be traditional / contemporary to stay in keeping with the age and characteristics already present. Informal dining will will be in the kitchen , which will be used most. This room will be dinner parties , special occasions , so I thought perhaps a table that could extend . I don’t want garden type furniture in the conservatory but I have seen rattan chairs that look casual but definitely smart too. My problem is that I see lovely bits and pieces but I don’t think they tie the rooms together. I am hitting a blank , so was hoping that someone might have more ideas radical or otherwise that can assist. My benefit is that at present I have no furniture for either room so I have flexibility.
