planning new floor, should I change worktop?

I am trying to create a more cohesive look on ground floor. I am thinking of putting down new kitchen and dining flooring, looking at quickstep range, something like oak with grey tone. I would like your thoughts on whether to change worktop. Fancying a snow-sparkle one. I attach some photos to show current deco. Going to change dining table to a simpler more contemporary one with bench and mismatched chairs, 2 being grey. Would like your opinion. BTW lounge has grey corner sofa.

I wouldn't change the worktop to white sparkle, it won't go with cream units. You could go with a grey tone to match the flooring and draw it all together.

I think you may struggle with a grey tone that's going to work well with the units. Creams and beige's are hard to match with a grey. This is the quick step Livyn Canyon oak grey

This is the same in Smoked Oak

Lastly Black Oak, which suits the units a lot better and goes with the work top. It does have grey tones, but obviously retains the brown.

You can then grey the walls which will bring it all together.

I'd take a drawer front off or even a small cupboard door and then take it along to the flooring shops so that you can see what will go with the kitchen.

That last pic looks good. I would also go for a warmer floor with grey tones to match the worktops (unless you really hate them?)

My current kitchen actually has cream units and a grey worktop. It’s a mid/lighter tone grey and looks ok. They are matt units though and not gloss. It has grey tiled floor as well to match.
I think with cream then wood brown always works the best but you could go grey as well.

I think your idea of moving the shower room is spot on. Move it to where the utility room is and then open the entire back area and make a large kitchen dining area. You could open the entire wall with glass doors leading to the garden. As to the first floor, You can turn the small bedroom 4 into an en-suite and connect it to the large bedroom 1, as long as there is headroom for that (does bedroom 1 have a pitched roof? its hard to know without pictures). Hi Liz, That's certainly a fun floor but we'd agree that it takes the attention from the striking worktop. 'Greige' engineered boards would create a subtle base, complementing the colour of the units and the walls, while adding a touch of warmth too. Looks really well Patrina, sometimes you can think something needs changed but in reality......as far as the radiator goes, I’ve painted mine with emulsion when I want it to blend in or wipeable satin or eggshell for wood or metalwork, I’ve been using crown paint lately and I’ve been very impressed! Hi, so this is what I thought. Create your own private master wing, everything on the left hand side of the yellow line is master suite. I have retained a connection to the family wing via the laundry room but remember this is only likely to be used by you as the rest of the household have their own staircase at their disposal. I would keep that connection, if there are small children to consider it’s a no-brainer, but also it’s practical for carrying out household tasks and is an alternative fire escape route. Of course how you lay this connection out is up to you, you can retain the corridor and sacrifice some bathroom space this may well be the way to go, I chose a different layout to disable the corridor as a primary ‘through route’ and to give the master wing a sense of retreat and sanctuary from hectic family life. I haven’t put in a walk in closet as combining the two far left bedrooms into one master suite presents this option internally to the space, if indeed it still feels like the way to go. As a next step I would seriously consider budgeting for an interior designer to get the absolute best out of your project. They will analyse how you and your family use the space, take the time to understand your personal priorities and identify any project limitations or sticking points such as structural queries, this information is then used to inform their proposal and will ensure the best results.
