Exterior paint colour ideas!
Comments (13)You could go for a warm grey scheme like Elephants Breath on the render, Charleston Gray on the woodwork and a different colour on the door like Brassica (all F&B), or if you prefer a traditional grey, purbeck stone render and moles breath on all the woodwork. You could always ask a F&B colour consultant on their facebook page....See MoreIdeas to Modernise House Exterior
Comments (0)Hi if anyone has any ideas on how to Modernise the front of this house would be great to hear. I quite like the modern black aluminium windows and modern doors. I also like french window styles. We are also looking to create a small porch as the front door opens straight into the living room but don't want to take to much parking space away. We are also planning to landscape the drive to make it a clear drive. I've also added a picture of the door we like but am not sure wether it would suit the house....See MoreIdeas on improving Front Exterior without a Front Door please?
Comments (13)Good afternoon everyone! We are blown away by the amazing response we have had from this community, thank you everyone for your feedback. We are especially grateful to Jonathan for his valuable feedback.. the idea is genius and makes so much sense! Thank you so much Jonathan for taking out the time to help us! I have never seen my husband so impressed by an idea so much!! I have attached a couple more photos showing view of the garage from the front of the house along with the entrance gate itself into the property. I have also attached a copy of our floor plan. We would really appreciate your thoughts on what we could to with the garage and front exterior in terms of: Garage walls - What do you think about the brick work? Worth keeping, or should we clad? Garage roof - We currently have an unsightly metal sheet. We don’t want to fully rebuild but we’ve seen light weight roofing for garages which look like tiling. Any suggestions or thoughts on this? Front exterior - We’re looking to improve kerb appeal of the house from the front, any ideas welcome (cladding, paint, stone work?) Windows - these are the original single pane windows which unfortunately come with poor insulation. Any thoughts on what to do for those? Further to the front patio suggestion, is it worth installing an entrance which leads straight into the kitchen through the current ‘Study’? See floor plan. (We are planning to extend the current kitchen by a further 2.5m towards the rear garden). Any ideas, suggestions and comments will be really appreciated, thank you for your help!...See Moreideas to improve Exterior Look

You could render the part below the balcony ro make it look like an extention and add to the narative. A new porch could also work as its very bland and generic, anything from a more elebaorate timber to full stone columns could work but purhaps a nice timber coloum style would look good. I'd also recomend changing the colour of the bargeboards windows if possible, if they're Upvc they can be painted so that might be an option. Some descreat rendering might work to form a false plinth to the property (many historic buildings used a layer of large stone blocks at the base rather then go straight to the ground) You could also add some gable truss work with ease. (The window suround and arch stones could be added without to much difficulty with render as a cosmetic addition) (note the plinth layer at the bottom with a stinger course, these are some of the architecture remnants that have survived over time and can give a house a feeling of being grounded or growing from the landscape rather then being just dropped) It does depend on your budget, some of these can be added for relativly little but other take more. Its also if you're going to do the work yourself or get a tradesman in. How much disruption are you looking to have? Things added onto the existing exterior are easy as the mess is confined to that area, other things like changin windows, adding mullions ect are more disruptive....See MoreAnthony (Beano)
