Help with powder room!
Looking for advice on paint color for a small, windowless powder room. It was previously wallpapered and I uncovered bright blue paint underneath! Any BM suggestions? Was initially thinking Edgecomb Gray, but I’m not sure if it will work with the brown floor tile. Thanks in advance!

Comments (4)In addition, you could also hard wire the table lamps and look at dimmable lights. There are various downlighters calculators online to check that you have sufficient lighting for the rooms purpose based on room size and ceiling height. Downlights don't need to be in a grid formation and you may want to look at lighting your cabinet and bookcase (or their replacement) for example. For the dining room I would choose the light based on the table i.e. If you're getting another long table maybe a linear light would work and make sure it's large enough for everyone to be able to see what they're eating! Comments (15)I think you could put the tv in the opposite corner on the other side of the window, then put the two chairs (if they'll fit) side by side on that wall (with the door) with the table in between. If these are a bit too snug, you could always angle them into the centre of the room. Then the sofa could go opposite the window at right angles to the door, but a little over towards the fireplace wall. This will give you clearly defined "square" sitting room area, which you can further delineate with a rug in your chosen accent colour and then add coordinating or matching cushions and throws. I would then move what I think is a glass cabinet (in the corner of the dining part of the room) to the left hand side of the radiator cabinet. I would then try to move the dining table more towards the kitchen and the now empty corner. For the dining table I would look at getting something like a table runner or a big bowl/vase/ornament with reflects your chosen accent colour which will visually join up the two areas. Comments (3)Hi there, Looking at your layout and depending on how many people will be seated I suggest looking into corner shaped sofa along the long wall closer to the window so that you can set up a TV on the opposite wall and get the most out of your space. However it does mean you may lose a little bit of the light from the doors. Alternatively you could have a 2 seater sofa and an armchair where your cupboards are to hide it a bit and still give you plenty of seating. For your dining table I suggest to keep this closer to the kitchen. From the floor plan I don't think you will be able to have a very large table so if you do plan to entertain I suggest to buy an extending dining table. I am not sure how far the kitchen comes, if it is beyond the door on the opposite wall? Then I would suggest to going for a two seater sofa instead. Hope this helps, thanks Rukmini...See More

5 years agoWe did Topsail by Sherwin Williams in our small, windowless powder room. It looks fresh and brightens it up. Not sure how it would work with your floor, but you can always get a sample. (please excuse the unfinished sink in the photo, we're still deciding on options!)

5 years agoIdentical shape, with excellent scale for sink. Just choose another color if you're not into blue. To work with a tight budget, you could add a chair rail to mark the horizontal instead of the tile here.
