Old Georgian Beam.
MBH Carpentry and Joinery Ltd.
Before... This beam was used as a timber lintel in an old Georgian barn and was removed when the barn was converted. The client saved the beam not knowing what it would be used for until it came to renovate another room in the main house.
After... This is the beam having been cleaned up and treated for wood worm cut to size and fitted above an existing fireplace where there used to be a white painted timber fire surround that was higher than the position of this beam.
