Does wood on chair legs have to match to table?

Hi I have fallen in love with a round table in grey painted light oak which is round and luxury velvet button back chairs. The only problem is that the oak color on the chair legs doesn’t match the table top exactly.

The table top is a white oak and chair legs a mid oak. Is it a complete design faux pas or is it ok?

its perfectly fine so long as they look good together. in fact I now see more mismatched chairs and tables than sets.

None of the wood in my house matches. As long as they are of a similar style they should look okay. If you have a picture of the tables to show us it will help with comments.

Hello, I would get a carpet in lighter colour and smaller than the one you have now. Overall the layout looks a bit funny, as the sofa is large as well so I could rather see a smaller square carpet. How your living area should be decorated that depends on you, which are your favourite styles and colour? Do you like contemporary, eclectic style perhaps? You could go for yellow, red, cream, white, grey. I would suggest you to mix an match colours a bit, that always gives a good look to any room. Hello Newton81, You're not alone... There are few of us who can afford what we really want .. So.. Given that you understand that replica means just that.. You are getting more or less what you pay for.. things can still be made well but not carry the "name" but it's true... Some replicas or copies are not made that well.. So it's wise to look around.. The other thing to consider too is that things are often priced because of the "name" So.. It's good to really look carefully and think on exactly what it is you're spending for.... Useful chair or the name! (yes beauty and design..) Sometimes a copy is as good as the real thing.. and if it means having more in the pocket, then even better... Who said a rolex had to be real! It's cool 2 b a copy! : ) ) Clients come with all manner of ideals and budgets.. big and small.. So finding ways to achieve the look they want at the price the wallet can afford is something that has to be considered.. I have picked 2 with an addition of an armchair.. I think it's nice to have an armchair for the heads of the table.. but maybe you don't like that idea... see the link below.. It's not Vitra! but... See what you think... Look at the returns policy and materials.. then decide which way you want to go.. ask about damages etc and weigh up the cost of a copy vs the real deal... My big love is the Cherner chair... Hello Ewa, The colour of your kitchen cupboards are a beautiful soft shade, and add a splash of colour into your kitchen and dining space. I would suggest painting your kitchen walls in Dulux White Mist - this is a calming white shade with a subtle hint of grey which would work well with your cupboards. My advice is to use Dulux Kitchen+ Matt paint for the kitchen walls, as it is tough against grease, dirt and stains. Combine this with Dulux Pure Brilliant White for your kitchen tiles to create a light fresh space. I recommend you paint your kitchen tiles using Dulux Eggshell to create a low-sheen finish. Finally, to complete the look, my suggestion would be to paint your dining table legs and chairs in Dulux Brushed Buckle - this will tie together the whole colour palette, creating depth and warmth to your space, while working well with the granite table top. My recommendation would be Satinwood paint as this gives interior wood a hard-wearing, subtle sheen finish - ideal for adding a modern effect to your home. I had this myself recently - I ended up I did go with a wooden table - a vintage one with multiple shades so it would still contrast and not look too much/samey. I also put a jute rug beneath mine and once you dress the top with a runner and a plant/vase etc it looks great. Alternatively white always works and I love concrete but expensive - concrete resin - metal can also be a good option - I wouldn't go with glass - I feel it's dated.

I think you will be fine especially as the table legs are painted so the woods won't be next to each other. I have chairs with white legs and a table with pale cream legs and no one notices...

It can look really good as long as the tone of wood is the same. For example if the table is a grey stain timber and the legs were a warm yellow tone it doesn't match so well, but is they are both in a grey tone it looks really beautiful. Here are some image examples
