Please help with my bland bedroom
Comments (4)Firstly I'd say you defiantly need bedside tables, to accessorise and add some depth of nothing else. Because your furniture is walnut effect (I think) i would keep the walls a light shade of grey and use your soft furnishings to Crete the glamorous look you like. Here's some pictures showing how you can stil achieve a glamorous monochrome look by using soft furnishings. I'd Lao look at the positioning of your furniture. Stay away from light and airy curtains and have thick heavy ones (don't strangle them with tie backs) and get some lamps in a dark colour for your bedside tables...See MoreBland kitchen?
Comments (42)Gone through all the comments thanks and some definite themes. Will definitely de-clutter workshops where I can and put some plants in. Will clear top of the fridge too. Like the idea of painting the whole room red - it's a lot of wall as big area so worry it will look too dark. Will try out some tester samples. Saw the attached and that looked good I personally love an olive green but just doesn't match accessories and costly to buy them all again. All our dinner set is also red too so hard to get away from! Will also look into large artwork as I know it needs that - just finding the right piece!...See MoreHelp with a bland kitchen/dining please!!
Comments (35)Hi everyone! Can't believe this post was from last year! We still have a couple more things to add before completing. Working full time and having toddler is taking up most of my free time ha! Anyway we went ahead with the original wallpaper we chose, when it was up we weren't too keen on it but we loves it now. The walls are painted in pale grey, a large plants added by the dining area and we have changed the dinning chairs. Do you think we still need to dress the windows and french door? Hubby didn't think we need to? Here's the family area which still need some work on. The only thing we've added here is the rug haha! Will change the cushions once it's all finished. The mirror will definitely need replacing as this one doesn't compliment the wallpaper. I've set my eyes on this mirror but just slightly concern that there's so many different colour of woods in the kitchen, or does it not matter? Still contemplating whether we need to change the large poster frames to white and add a side table by the small sofa? What do you think we have done so far? Any recommendations or advice is welcome :-) Thanks, May...See MoreRoom too bland??
Comments (22)Thanks again for your comments. I've finally got it how I like it thanks to everyone's help! I realised I was getting away from the style I really like; comfy and relaxed. Everyone's comments and opinions have really helped. By filling out the shelf, your eye is taken off the bare walls either side. The bed in white is lighter, fresher and less formal. The curtains raised off the floor makes the room feel more spacious somehow. The bouquet on the right hand side of the shelf is my silk wedding bouquet and my pearl tiara is up there too, which is nice because before they were stuffed in a cupboard :-) So now, white Venetian blind on order, white duvet and pillows to order and one more blue hydrangea for the window sill :-) Thanks again for all your feedback and help!!...See Morejulie herbert
