Looking for a 840 - 860mm quadrant shower tray!

Hello,

I was hoping that someone on here might be able to point me in the direction of a non-standard sized shower. The shower in my current en suite is 840mm and due to the size and layout of the ensuite, we are restricted to a quadrant layout. We wouldn't be able to fit a 900mm shower in the space, but don't want to decrease the size of the shower to 800mm either.

There are a couple which are 860mm on Victoria Plumbing but for the same layout reasons they aren't really suitable (we ideally need one where the opening is in the centre of the curve, not to the extreme left or right - I hope that makes sense). Having said this, any help finding a non-standard size would be appreciated.

This is the only one i can find.....................you may wish to call them to double check. The pacific also comes in a left and right hand opener, so make sure it's the double door, it says it is and the pic backs that up.

However, when you read the specs it does say it's an 860 quadrant, but it also says in the small print that the tray is 914mm x 914 ( which is odd ) Pacific Quadrant Shower

Can’t seem to see them anywhere, but I see a lot of places online making bespoke ones , if that’s an option?

Hello. If you are stuck for space, you might consider a quadrant shower enclosure which has a smaller footprint than a square or rectangular one - then get the largest one that will fit comfortably. We usually install Matki but look at Bathroom Heaven (we fitted one of their quadrant showers recently), or generally search for quadrant showers on line. The good thing about those suggested here are that they have minimal frames, so look cool, and come with a low profile shower tray. If you want to pop to a local shop and check out some features, Bathstore usually has several available, and a B&Q superstore will usually have 20 or so set up. I'm sure you will have laid out the space on a floor plan, so the remaining thing to check is how the door operates: in a confined space, you might choose a sliding door (or doors) as opposed to one that hinges. Regarding the valve and overhead shower and / or handset, you will be faced with either a concealed valve (generally more expensive both in parts and labour) or an exposed valve. The image above has a concealed valve (from Hansgrohe), but I suspect you will be choosing an exposed model if space is a little more confined for the pipework; the one in the image below (ignore the bath) is from Vado and you can see that the valve mixer, and attachments come as one unit which makes things simpler. Hi, I'd definitely keep your feature bath. This can be painted in a nice Fired Earth Eggshell finish. I can't comment on your basin or wc, as I can't see them and have no idea what condition they are in? I'd tile the floor, shower areas and window reveals. I'd suggest upstands (skirting tiles) around the rest of the bathroom, then you can add some nice colour to your bathroom your painted bath will be a lovely feature. Have a look at some of my photosets which may give you some inspiration. Having said all this, I think your budget is unrealistic. The most important component in your new bathroom is the person who undertakes the work and this will cost you money. Good luck with your project. Jeremy

Thanks Najeebah. The existing door is shown, it is 700mm wide plus the door frame. Its quite narrow but is the original for the house. Thanks for your tip about feeling crowded, maybe you are right, I had not thought of that, was too busy concentrating on the walking space. I'll look out for a corner sink in the wild this week and try it out :). On the topic of quadrant showers as suggested by Caldicote Kitchen and Bathroom Centre, I had also originally wanted one with a single sliding door, but it seems like they all would all end up opening to the side or in any case, too close to the toilet in the current layout. I definitely think it would flow nicer. and a slide door seems like it would be better for a tight layout like this. Double sliding doors would open in the correct place. Everyone is suggesting a sink on the the window wall, but I cannot get it to fit. The option that doesn't require a great toilet move would be as below but the toilet doesn't fit, unless perhaps a corner unit, but it seems a bit clunky. You can see the lines on the floor I drew that represent the desired comfort space around the toilet. It would probably be possible to do it with a pedestal sink, but hard to get the mirror nicely located with the window being there. The second option would be to swap the position of the toilet and sink, and in which case the sink may as well go against the other wall for better space usage. I think this would work better than the corner sink but, it means moving the toilet all the way around the wall away from the soil stack, marked in red below. Maybe this wouldn't be a problem, I'll ask around. It also puts the toilet in full view from the landing, but maybe it's not such a big problem. Sstops first suggestion of moving the shower to the far wall would work great, if not for the window being dead centre of the shower wall: Thanks everyone for continued input.

Thanks ever so much for all the input. Sadly an outward opening or sliding door is not an option due to the position of other walls/doors etc outside the bathroom. Theoretically the toilet could swap positions with the shower, however this would mean having a really tiny sink and as we spend a good deal more time using the sink than the shower and I need storage too, I think this would prove a compromise too far. we've had a measure and have found a pivot/in-fold door which looks like it fits the bill if we move the toilet right over. This one says it’s 900 but if you look at the description it talks about adjustable from 850-880. Not completely clear if it would work for you but you could give them a call?

I find bathroom specialists and even plumbers merchants do a huge range of sizes and brands and are very good quality. Plumbers merchants are usually a trade counter and no showrooms but they have loads of catalogues you can take take home and study. Sometimes a walk in place is better than online. Just my opinion of course.
