Comments (7)You may need to change the blue that you already painted. Choose a fabric for a blind (roller, not Roman, which can encourage mildew), then choose the paint colour. https://www.romo.com/collections/prints-weaves/saphira/mariola/jade https://www.sanderson-uk.com/shop/fabric/aegean-fabrics/simi/?code=DAEG222948 https://www.sanderson-uk.com/shop/fabric/papavera-prints-and-embroideries/milla/?code=DPAV224629 Prestigious Textiles- Blossom Collection, Allegra Indigo- 5831/705It's easier to decide on your overall look, find any patterns first, then choose paint colours. You have a small bathroom, so don't use colours that will overpower the space....See MoreSmall Dining room decoration help!
Comments (5)Hi Eilidhmca, Congratulations on your new home! Trying to choose colours when you have a period property as well as limited natural light, can be quite a challenge. For an elegant and timeless shade, use Dulux Steel Symphony 4 from our colour mixing range. This calming muted blue tone works beautifully on the walls and echoes the Scandinavian style, which will work perfectly with your classic blue Aga. To ensure that your scheme will look great for longer, use our Endurance+ finish paint. Specially formulated with Diamond Technology, it is 20x tougher than our conventional matt paint. As for your chosen dining table, it will work effortlessly within your dining room. For a complete Rustic-Scandi inspired dining area, use a mix of bench and dining chair seating. We love how these different chair styles in white and statement lighting create a fabulous characteristic dining table layout. Comments (3)You can have a nice outdoor rug to ground the space and add colourful cushions and blanket on your furniture. A small round side table for a small lamp to create some mood lighting and of course your lovely plants and some waterproof wall art on the walls. Cannot see the balcony completely but if some bamboo blinds can be hung from the ceiling above the rail to help reduce noise and pollution, that would be great. Homesense is a good place to shop for accessories. Hope it helps....See MoreLiving room accessories/decor help
Comments (7)What you have done is lovely, it just needs tweaking. How about placing one large, or two flat weave rugs in Aqua underneath your existing rug, which would soften the impact of the teal walls. Paint behind shelves in aqua, the graduation of one colour always help to tie a scheme together. Could you gather objects in groups on the shelves, in threes and in different heights and leave some breathing spaces between? (There are tutorials on this subject!) Search for a few vases/ornaments in key colours. An different style armchair together with your little side tables in the bay window could be a Reading Nook, would make the room feel larger. A patterned one with some ochre/yellow and a plain cushion would warm up the room. Agree about the mirror, large, round and gold/brass would liven and warm up the room, the width of fireplace if possible. As others have commented, wood and metal (natural) elements help to ground a room. I think you are nearly there…well done!...See MoreJane Hodgson
