Help with paint colour please! Home office/guest room.

Hello, I’m looking for some advice from the community on the colour to paint my home office/guest bedroom. I’ve ordered a grey (aluminium carpet). I’ve got three testers on the wall, I was initially inspired by Earthborn Polka Dot but for ease I got three Valspar testers from left to right on the wall Soft Shore, Paradise Found and Blue Nuthatch.
I’m reupholstering an old William Morris style arm chair in the Willow Bough Fabric (draped over an other chair for now). I’m considering shutters for the window as curtains block what little light there is. The chest of drawers/lampshade are going and the print can be moved too.
I’m wondering if the blues are too dark, the opposite wall is basically all doors into built in cupboards so would probable keep this and maybe the wall behind the bed in a white to help with light. I’ve been thinking maybe a yellow would compliment the desk/carpet/new chair but can’t quite find one I like or can get excited about. We painted our bedroom Dark Galaxy and love it so not afraid of dark or bright colours and of having a multicoloured scheme!
I want the space to be energising as I’ll be working from home and also relaxing for our guests.
Would love to hear any thoughts or ideas!

Here are some more pictures. I’m almost decided on the soft shore (far left)....
This is it on the left on darkest wall (with the other testers) and the second photo is the colour swatch on the lightest wall.
Also a picture of the chair (currently in a different room).
Last photo is swatches with fabric. I’ve just checked selvedge on fabric and it’s actually Madura Leaf (habitat V&A Collection).

Comments (10)How about painting the radiator and the wall it is on blackboard paint, having a gallery including your piece of graffiti art (I like it) on the wall on which the door is on. You can have a couch there or a daybed, whatever you want. Keep all the walls white except the one with blackboard, leave your curtains as black white and grey and paint your floor glossy white. Put a modern light as your main light. By having all these items in black whites and grey it means that it can change to another room at a later date easily. Have the wall shelves as you had them in your design, go for a white desk and have an orange chair. Have an extra large rug that has some black or grey. For the bookcase I suggest some closed in cupboards for items you don't want to see and some open shelves for items that can look pretty. The blue cushion fabric would be the bench seat with the dark grey and orange as cushions. Do you think the blue will look ok against the blue of the feature wall? Comments (5)Thank you for your help. I was thinking of putting a large bookcase on wall that backs onto utility room but I want to get the desk location right first. I just need plenty of storage and enough space to work on a laptop. I would like the room to double up as a nice reading room too I think. Comments (5)Hello, Lovely amount of space for working, lucky you! It looks like you have extra seating and in such a small space do you really need them all to be in there? For example, the chair that's next to the mirrors? You could remove that and replace the box seat with something more stylish and less clunky? If you send me the wall measurements from the door to the left side of mirror I can give you some suggestions to start you off. I think it will look "neater" if you could have the same style chairs in the room if you do need the others. The back drop wall that can be seen when you have a zoom call would benefit from different artwork or wall decor. Do you want to keep the shelf that's on the right side or would you be open to replacing it? Also, you could get a radiator cover which always looks nice. In terms of the workspace and cupboards, it will really make it look better if you can declutter and get rid of anything that does not need to be stored there, then you could have some nice decor items especially in the display cabinets. 5 years agoIts funny but I am liking the darker shades more and more. Always used to go for pastels but my tastes are evolving! The matchcards in your earlier pic, on the table, seem to be much lighter than the later pic with the fabric, not sure why. The middle colour, Paradise Found, seems to match the flower in the fabric very well so it would work. But I must be honest I love the two greeny blues more. They are very similar to Inchyra Blue by F&B. Would you go all over? I think with white shutters and white woodwork it would look stunning. Here’s a pic of Inchyra Blue so you can see how similar it is, but a little darker?
