colour choices for walls & curtains to go with red fitted carpet?
Comments (3)Mixture, like a tweed effect of brightish with salmon-ish, some flecks of a slate blue and a very few of cream - sounds dreadful but is rather nice - better than it sounds anyway. Thanks for your suggestions, she likes the idea of a creamy colour for walls....See MoreWalls colour to go with Persian carpet
Comments (10)I tend to think it's really worth deciding what it is you want to jump out and be a feature and what it is you'd rather wasn't noticed ;) If the rug is one of the loveliest things in the room and you want that to feature more (plus set against parquet floor which is lovely too) then I'd probably choose a colour that doesn't overpower the rug. Saying that and putting rug to one side I would personally be inclined to keep a dark shade (particularly as it appears to set off the sofa nicely) - maybe Stiffkey Blue or Pelt by F&B would work. If that would still overpower the rug (and this is to be a feature you want picked out) then go light and perhaps take it onto the ceiling too/ pick out the coving/ picture rail/ skirting and doors with a different shade. I did my lounge in Blackened (walls + ceiling) with Cornforth on woodwork/ doors / Wimborne on picture rail and coving. I would personally lose the curtains/ pelmet - looks a bit 'heavy' and quite dominating - however if those are lovely (hard to tell from pic) then again to make them more of a feature then go light on the walls.... Hope helpful - good luck!...See MoreWhat colour wall to go with burgundy curtains?
Comments (3)Hi Sandra, seconding Minnie's question - what's the colour scheme of the sofas/rest of the room? Many colours go with burgundy - white, navy blue, dark green, cream, black, it depends how bold or neutral you want to go!...See MoreWhat colour carpet and walls will go with the wardrobe?
Comments (2)Hi there, do you have any photos of the wardrobe and space? Practicality is one of the main reasons why white or cream isn’t the first carpet colour choice as people are worried it will show up the dirt or stain easily. However these days, it’s possible for a pale carpet to keep its good looks, even in heavy traffic areas. Cormar offers a selection of easy-clean, stain-resistant polypropylene carpets that are even bleach cleanable, which means surface dirt like mud and spills, simply wipes away with a damp cloth. If white or cream still isn’t screaming out practicality, why not choose a silver or grey carpet which can be more sympathetic to spills and stains, especially in an easy clean fibre. Or if you’re feeling bold, why not choose a dark blue or charcoal carpet, play around with contrasting colours in the paintwork, furnishings, and well-chosen accessories for a touch of glamour. You can browse our selection of carpets that are designed to cope with everyday household spills here http://www.cormarcarpets.co.uk/types_easy_clean.php Let us know what you decide!...See MoreUser
