Need help choosing external colour- anything but cream!
Comments (84)Oh, Rachelle, I'm so sorry, after all your research and planning and bravery!! Well, there's is nothing wrong with cream, but I completely understand how you wanted to climb out of that box of one colored crayons, lol. It is what it is, I do hope that you'll be able to build your pergola and I also hope you can introduce a bit of color with your door, this color is from sherwin Williams, it's SW 6480 lagoon, it would be beautiful with a cream house color and a terracotta roof. Good luck, and I'd love to see your final result, please post a picture at the end of project. And I'm glad you're upbeat and looking at the "sunny side" :)...See MoreHelp!!! Off-white hex floor tiles clash with white wall tiles/plumbing
Comments (39)Jonathandb1972, I was thinking of going with a grout that is the same colour or lighter than the grey tile. The hex will be grouted in a medium grey. This has already been done in the loo (the hex) and looks great. Neither are grouted in the above picture. Do you think there will still be issues with where the grout lines are if they are the same or lighter than the tile? Also, where the hex tile in the shower meets the grey tile will mainly be covered by the shower's profile. However, the shower only goes up to about 2m, so there will still be a visible "meeting" of tiles above that. My builder is a little concerned about how this will look as he will have to cut small pieces of tile to fill up the edge, which may stain once they start grouting. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best......See MoreWhite or Cream? Help!
Comments (2)Hey, Great, this project sounds super exciting. I would personally use whites and greys as these are more versatile to change if you decide you want to re design your space at a later date. Grey and white is a definite on trend colour scheme and works alongside all additional colours. Brown can make space appear to be smaller and can date quite quickly. So this is something you should consider. What kind of tile are you considering? is your space open plan? Patterned tiles can be used in a great way to enhance your space. Whether you opt for the traditional encaustic tiles (that have been a staple in Victorian entryways), Moroccan inspired tiles, modern geometric, or other patterned tiles, the key to pulling off this fresh new look is to let the tiles be the ‘hero’ of the room and working simple, streamlined, architectural furniture and lighting pieces into the space. This creates a modern look packed with character and artistic flair, with the patterned tiles adding a sense of nostalgia and quality craftsmanship to the design. Do you know what style furniture (Scandinavian, Italian, retro, modern, mid-century) you want to include in your new home? I have added some inspirational images for you below; I do hope the above has inspired you! Here if you need any help :) Speak soon. Ashlee...See MoreHelp me with furniture/decor ideas!
