LVT nonslip rating

Hi, I'm looking at LVT for my elderly mother's bathroom and have seen some really designs by Novocore. But I cannot see a non slip rating for their products. Does anyone know if they have one and if so, what it is? I have emailed them as there is no phone number to be found anywhere but really need to find out quickly. Thanks in advance for any info!

All LVTs should be anti slip tested. There should be no reason as to why they have not responded to your test other than they do not have the necessary technical data sheets showing what the test rate achieved was… assuming it was ever submitted for testing.

We're not familiar with the brand and we know just about everything there is to know, so… we smell a rat. There is so much choice out there Dee, we'd recommend moving on to a supplier/producer who can back their products up with basic test data, such as slip resistancy.

Hi, non-slip floors tend to be for commercial use, they come in the form of a sheet vinyl, there stuck down and heat / seam welded together - you have probably seen them in hospitals, dentist surgerys. (dont forget when there wet, there slippy) For something modern please take a look at the Quick-Step LIVYN LVT luxury design flooring Essential range (stick down) or the Balance Click or Ambitet Click ( click system -like a laminate locking system ) Also Polyflor COLONIA or CAMARO LVT all ranges have a wide colour spectrum and include a 'tile' and a 'plank'. Rigid core LVT is likely to become the next generation of LVTs. Solid (less likely to suffer indentations), more stable (less likely to expand and contract in extreme conditions, such as conservatories), more forgiving to the small subfloor imperfections (small dips and raises in a subfloor can be soaked up by rigid core) indicate to this style becoming very popular. Those that know, know. Those that don't will pooh-pooh the product. That's why you've had varying opinions, Pavan. Rigid core is more than likely to be more expensive than traditional 2.5mm dry back LVT, though. For some installations rigid core LVT will be over engineered. Just depends on the type of installation you are about to embark on and also the aesthetics. Do you like the design look of the rigid core? We're cute, we're cuddly… we're the Flooring Gurus!

This is just my opinion about porcelain, some people don’t have the same opinion. The non slip factor is fabulous and you can walk barefoot on it in the rain and it’s steady underfloot. It is only the difficulty of cleaning R13 porcelain that is annoying. A lower grade like R11 is easier to clean. I’ve bought a jet washer so we shall see how that goes.
