I am about to embark on an single storey extension and need information on the sliding doors as they provide the look like what I intend to achieve. Many thanks

The sliding doors are a Schuco system. Many window suppliers can supply and install them for you. We have used West Kent Windows and Express Bifolding Doors.

Hi Jennifer, Great question - firstly, I don't think that two different types of blinds will necessarily look odd, but it's a case of carefully matching them. However, I'm not sure panel blinds will have the desired effect of controlling the heat in a south-facing room. You say you have looked at PerfectFit blinds - these types of blinds can be made with honeycomb Pleated fabrics which help to control temperature extremes. Our ThermaShade Pleated fabrics are just like this. Read a little bit more about them here http://www.hillarys.co.uk/blinds-range/pleated-blinds/ Pleated blinds have the added advantage of folding up really small. Alternatively, you could try Roman blinds, but these have a deeper stack at the top of the window when closed. Hope that helps, Zoe

Can you post a floor plan - a rough drawing would do - so we can get an idea of how the room works? I want desperately to say "turn the chair round so it faces the fireplace and door/window" but perhaps there's a reason why the chair has to be in the middle of the room facing a wall? I feel all items in the room are fighting against each other instead of working in harmony. If you have a sofa, where is it - or is that something you are waiting to buy once you've worked out how to make the room work? What is the furniture peeking out on the left in the third photo and why is it there where my logic says should be where the sofa goes? Why is the rug behind the chair? It all seems a bit plonked and that if it were all moved slightly, it might be brilliant. A floor plan would really help!

Hi all, We're also looking for a set of 3 sliding doors (approx 4450 wide). Obviously we want the thinnest sightline/frames we can afford but the quotes i'm getting are HIGH. 10k+ (+vat) I know there's a supply shortage/pandemic/brexit etc, but if anyone has any recommendations for reasonably priced doors that would be really helpful. (so many companies out there) If you're happy to share prices, that would be great too. Many thanks, a frazzled refurber. @Sonia - where were the doors from in your pic? @kwg kwg - where did you get your doors with the 35mm frames please? - can i ask the cost?

Hi! A belated thank you to everyone who helped me finally make a decision! I went with a 3 pane sliding door (on a 3.7m opening) allowing me to open over half the width. I figured that with bifolds you would still have the frames stacked to one side which takes up a chunk of the opening as well. I chose the XP Glide from Express Bi-folds. Have found them professional and easy to deal with, we are just awaiting delivery now! The only bug I had is that their choice of handles were pretty basic, either a chunky (in my view an eye sore!) steel bar or a regular lever handle. They only come in black, grey or white! I was initially going with a very sleek 2 pane sliding door from Ultraline that had an integrated handle within the frame but the cost was too high for me to change it to a 3 pane. If I had the budget though I would have gone with them instead. Express Bi-folds do a slimmer framed option than XP Glide, I think it is called XP Panoramic. The 3 pane was more than Ultraline I think though. The consultant at Express-Bi-folds also advised against slimmer framed bonded glass options as if for any reason you damage the glass you have to replace the whole frame as well which is a major structural headache. Most slim framed options use this method though (as opposed to beaded - correct me if I am wrong!) so I would have chosen to ignore his advice if my budget allowed :-)
