Who is the door manufacturer? How big are they? How big/wide is the track?

The door manufacturer is WinDoor each door panel is 4' wide and 10' tall. The track is about 11" wide.

Solid oak tolerates temperature changes much better and better suits the front door. The front door is always exposed to moisture due to rain, snow, or fog. Also, the front door shouldn't fade over time due to direct sunlight falling on it in hot weather. I think it's much more profitable for you to take a solid oak door because it won't have to be changed after five years of use. We bought an oak door made of solid wood about ten years ago at https://www.ukoakdoors.co.uk/internal-oak-doors/four-panel-doors. I like that I don't see any cracks or wrinkles on this wooden door. My wife jokes that even my face is covered with wrinkles, despite the door has remained smooth and looks like a new one.

Bifold doors 3.6m opening - are 1.2m doors too heavy?

In a previous house we had 3x1m aluminium bi fold doors. All doors stacked outside to the right. I loved them but I think anything larger than 1m panels would have been too heavy and unwieldy. One of the panels was our back door and clipped onto the second door to secure it. But a glass panel of 1.2m is a big door to be opening on a windy day. I would go for the 4x 1m option. On a warm sunny day it will be lovely to have that large opening. Ours were SE facing and some days they would be open from 7 am to bedtime. We only had one issue with them. Sometimes in hot weather they would swell and be difficult to close until they cooled down. However I have never heard of this happening before.

The thermal qualities of new ones would be preferable. When I had new patio doors (sliding) I couldn’t believe how much cosier the room is now compared to the old 1980s one. Your examples are beautiful. I recently had one of the large double glazed panes changed to accommodate a cat flap (safety glass cannot be cut) and I was quoted £370 - £650 for one pane. I chose the cheaper quote but just to let you know of possible costs to change the glass.
