The photos don't show the mounting brackets. Are they set for a peaked roof

The mounting bracket for this weathervane for a peaked roof would be our 401AL which is sold separately.

I had a standalone headboard and I had a handyman secure it to the wall for me using a simple U bracket. The U part is squared like a u and fit around the leg, just under the wider part of the headboard. We used drywall sleeves first, and then screws to ensure it would be well-anchored and we never had an issue. If you have brick or rough stucco or plaster, you might have to anchor it to your existing bedframe. Hi. I would bring forward the sofa about 3ft forward from where it is now. Add a long console/sideboard etc behind the sofa (door ŵall) with a pair of matching table lamps and a set of 8/12 symmetrical art prints over the top. Add a console behind the sofa back facing the kitchen and accessorise (not with lamps!). Move the coffee table in front of the sofa. I'd move the tv to the other side of the fire and have someone make a cabinet to fit the tv just something similar to your yellow one). Pop a couple of lamps on this cabinet. Move the chair to the other corner (but not right in it) and pop a floor lamp or your existing one behind. I'd go for art over the fire, something with mainly a white background picking up a little of your colours. I think a light would be fine over the dining table, it won't lower the ceiling further as you've got the extractor, and as the table isn't symmetrical to the island I think it would work. Alternatively remove the light fitting and have an arc lamp on that rhs ŵall partly over the table.What ŵalls were you looking to decorate? Is the blue going? I think given the colours in the room I'd go grey, white or a duck egg could work for the main ŵalls.

Unless you like to cook a lot of fry-up's I think a fairly powerful extractor fan should still be effective even when set back a bit. If you really want to position it over the hob you could have a contractor build in a robust boxed in false wall onto which you could have a normal 60 or 50cm wide extractor hood mounted. It would have to be anchored well to support the weight, the electrician would need to allow more power cable and a longer flue but it shouldn't be all that expensive or difficult to do. You'd probably want to make the cupboard next to it an open one or check carefully that the door is still functional.

Yes, I was wondering if silicone alone would support the weight of the shelf.... From what I’ve read when you drill in screw anchors the holes breech the waterproof membrane which isn’t ideal. As we haven’t tiled the niche yet the shelf could be imbedded into the mortar during tiling. But because it will be tricky to cut the back mosaic tiles I’m wondering if imbedding in just the side tiles will be enough to hold the weight of the glass? Who knew it could be so tricky...
