I'm lost! Please help with my kitchen.
Comments (544)Hello Amanda, : )) Do you mean in the kitchen? Yes a nice idea. I like flat plate too, but really plain. Well the best way to describe how I feel about certain alterations is to tell you about someone I knew who "did up" her flat to such a degree that she literally took away all that was characterful about it.. Sometimes it's best to leave things as their patina develops over time and results in something quite special. Restoration is one thing but you can also restore the life out of something and thus diminish in certain contexts the value- and so it's good to know when to stop.. So yes, I'm firmly in the camp suggesting leave them, but of course it's entirely your choice. : ))...See MoreWould love some feedback on my kitchen design
Comments (32)hi, my sister in law has a very similar sized kitchen to u and shebhasbso much storage she even has empty cupboards!! she put her sink infront of the windowbwith the hob opposite, to the left of the hob shebhas a tall unit with her ovens in it and the otherside she has her fridge and then 2 base units and 2glass display wall units. on the far wall to the right of her sink she has wall units, and to the left of her sink she has a stretch of worktop similar to ur plan which leads to a peninsular island that steps down from her worktop height to create a table. would love to see some pics of what plan you go with and the finished result...See MoreKitchen help please - Adding a fridge freezer
Comments (11)I think you're rather stuck on where to put a fridge freezer now the kitchen is done because it would need to go on the end of the run because of the height. I guess you could put it in the dining area along with a couple of larder units to make it one long continuous run if you're opting for a smaller table although I do like how it currently is. Regarding corners I would always plan a 900 L shaped base in each corner because you can then open each door offering you full and easy access to the whole area. Much cheaper than installing chromeworks in a cupboard for a decent brand....See MorePainting my kitchen teal....help please
Comments (8)Looks like you've done a really good job with the painting. Presuming you liked the colour in the tin, are you happy with it now it's on the walls? If so, I'd be tempted to paint the other walls white and contrast with orange and some navy colours elsewhere. A white roller blind will break up the teal although I do like the one below from blinds to go. Is the tiling new? Don't want to offend but the top border tile is making your kitchen appear dated. You might want to consider some tile stickers for thst top row (or couple of rows). I've never used them so can't vouch for how durable they are but they're not too expensive to give tiles a lift, even if only temporary. Best of luck....See MoreBow Sward
