Help - can't decide on fence paint colour
Comments (24)Just remembered I promised to post an update once the fence was finished. Here it is. Excuse the state of the bushes etc, they need a bit of tidying up, and a few more shrubs / trees / plants addes, plus I made the mistake of letting my father in law loose with the loppers on the hedge in the corner - never again! Happy enough with the fence colour though, thanks for all your help....See Morenew fence colour ideas
Comments (43)Hi, the slabs were Natural Paving products. Premierstone Platinum. size: 900 x 600. They look brilliant, people love them, they are easy to sweep. However, they are a deathtrap! Kids in socks skid over on it and if there is the slightest bit of water it's like an ice rink, especially the steps! Am going to paint it with a non slip coating in the hope this solves the problem. You also need to make sure they are bedded on a solid base of mortar, rather than blobs, as the blobs wick up the moisture and you can see this on the top of the slab. Saying that, I do have a French drain under the patio, so there's a lot of moisture there. I only got round to painting the fence this weekend (Rubbish I know!) Started out the front and will work my way round the back as each panel needs adjusting as it's sagged. Oped for Cuprinol Silver Copse in the end. Really happy so far....See MoreWhat colour to paint wood fence?
Comments (6)I like the grey/black of the bit of trellis opposite for the fence, and then a nice sage green for the shed? There is a fantastic range of colours by Cuprinol Garden Shades and its really nice paint. I think you can go a bit OTT with the shed, such as pink maybe, but stick to classic greens, blues and neutrals if that’s too much! Here’s the colour chart, but they have a good website that allows you to see all the colours on a shed or fence etc....See MoreHelp need on what colours to paint fence
Comments (5)If you are set on painting then go with a contrasting colour to the paving, a darker tone of grey for the horizontal slats. As for paint I would choose the Valspa decking paint from B&Q as this is much better wearing and seems to have a better coverage than fencing paints. Also this being designed for decks it does not need as much repainting as fence paint and to some degree be washed down. As for the fence around the lawn area it depends if you are planting around the borders or not. Whatever you do there the fence will go green under the overhanging foliage and will need to be cleaned on a regular basis. If it was me I would be tempted to leave it to weather naturally as once you start painting a fence, you will always be painting it to keep it looking good....See MoreToria J
