Outdoor tiles advice

Hi, I currently have a concrete yard which is terribly stained with dog pee. I’m considering my options of how to combat this, I’m thinking of outdoor porcelain tiles with waterproof grout. We want to use our outdoor space but can’t as we regularly clean and disinfect, thus the ground is always wet. Ant advice would be appreciated.

As long as the concrete is sound and no cracks porcelain would be perfect and you can lay it on an outdoor adhesive, just make sure you clean the concrete first, use a pressure washer.

A 20mm thick, large porcelain tile always looks great in the garden. Do you have some photos or an approximate plan of the concrete area and the garden? It would be good to understand where the water would drain and what kind of design could be suggested to make the space look nice.

Hi the floor tiles we are using are from tops tiles , I can't see them on their website but they have them in their shop . They are dark grey/ black 30x60 and are Matt but in certain lights have a very tiny sparkle . Not the ones with big sparkly bits and that are shiny . If I go in again I will find out the name . Your sink is lovely also . I just like ours as it has a Matt finish with a limestone look even though it's white .

I don’t think fixing an airier in a lot will be sufficiently stable, plus you’d have the weight of it to move around. Whilst you may not be permitted to make certain fixings, it’s possible that you might be granted consent for a washing line if you asked. It’s not an unreasonable thing to have in a garden and you can’t beat the smell and feel of line dried laundry. 😀 But otherwise, as hedgehog99 suggests, you could simply use an indoor airer outdoors, suitably secured.

They look very well laid. Removing them won’t be difficult but it would be messy. You could then install a proper window sill and then paint it in satinwood or eggshell, or go for a wooden sill and varnish or oil it. I don’t think painting the tiles would work as it would be an uneven surface and the paint may well start to chip.
