Is this en suite too narrow for a bath? We really want a bath over a s
Comments (15)As OnePlan says, layout works & not being greeted by a wc is a bonus! Get the lighting right & it won't be a problem not having a window. I would recommend having lighting switched separately as well as extractor fan, with secondary lighting for when you may need to use the wc in the night etc & don't want to be blinded by the main lights - wall lights or LEDs at low level under vanity unit, left wall & right wall from end of bath to wc for example. Invest in a mirrored cabinet with integrated lighting & shaver socket & would recommend a large mirror on the left wall to make the room feel more spacious. We have fitted a mirror from ikea several times on previous projects, 2m x 80cm for £80. Regarding tile choice I wouldn't be to concerned about the finish of the tile if your lighting is right. I have gone with the same tile for both walls & floor in ensuite & small bathrooms which helps the room feel bigger. Whites & neutral tones are always a winner in smaller spaces. Hope the above helps & good luck with your project, put up some photos once you have completed it! Regards Karl...See More5 bed or 4 bed - and what master/en-suite layout?
Comments (12)Do you plan to have a double bed in each room including your master? Having a 4 bedroom house, can give you the space to have a super king in your master bedroom which would balance the space out. Going with the 4 bedroom idea and having a larger master en-suite - it feels like there is a lot of empty unusable corridor space. I think this could be tweaked to make it a fabulous space... Just a brief look at your space, you have 3 wardrobes - could you make the middle one a door into the en-suite, allowing you to have a larger rectangle walk in shower opposite the bath. You could have also have drawers / dressing table on the wall as you come into the bedroom. Think about where the door to the master bedroom would be as it would ideally be balanced around the windows in the corridor. Presuming the windows are fixed. Could bedroom 2 have the door where the 5 bedroom layout is allowing more space for your bedroom door? The A/C cupboard - do you need it? Could you make it wider and smaller depth or a wardrobe for yourselves? It's a little difficult without measurements to work it all out... This is an example of the idea I suggested above. (We are towards the end of renovating our place and we changed it from 5 bed to a 4 but added an en-suite into each room. We don't miss the useless little box room!)...See MoreHelp needed to redesign master bedroom, en- suite and dressing room
Comments (4)Hi Emily, here are some pictures This is the corridor, we have tried to show the step back between the two walls, there is 877mm behind the mirrored doors. This is the end of the bedroom we proposed moving the bathroom to This end is where we thought the dressing area could go, blocking the first door from the corridor. We have taken down the stud wall that used to divide the room. En-suite which we proposed combining with corridor to make bedroom with door from landing at far end of en-suite. Any ideas would be gratefully received as we are going round in circles with our ideas. Thanks Amanda...See MoreMaster suite layout
Comments (4)And some more options. Less boxed in functions, but also less walking around the bed by both (just one haha). Toilet tucked behind the shower (pony wall or satin/opal glass separation), so one can sit all relaxed while other brushes teeth, only requires a good extractor. ;) Either double sink, but my advise would be a wide vanity with an offcentre sink. Ceiling height closet space on both landing side as bathroom side (his and hers?), window seat with drawers under along the 'bottom window'. All ceiling height closets along the old wall in the second layout (double function is soundproofing), dresser on the landing bit....See MoreArlene Awarda Architect
